Guest guest
Hi Bee and Moderators, I've been on Bee's diet for about 8 months. I started the diet with the hope of losing 5 lbs. that wraps around my waste. On the onset of the diet I lost 5 lbs, but then gained it back with 5 on top of that. I was taking a natural thyroid med, 1.5 grains of Westhroid, but weaned myself off of it in the first 3 months. I can tell my adrenals have healed, but my metabolism isn't 100%. (sometimes I feel my body using my food for fuel and sometimes I feel it sitting around my waist.) Since my adrenals are well could I add back in a small amount of Westhroid? I was still taking it in the beginning when I lost weight. It is so hard to keep doing the same thing without any results! Thanks, Debbie in Oklahoma : )

That's how I lost my thyroid back in 1987, since I was still taking meds which threw my thyroid into a tizzy when it was trying to normalize. That made my thyroid go from low to extremely high hormone production in a short time. I didn't know better at the time, so I allowed the medicos to zap it with radioactive iodine which killed it. Remember that it takes 1 month of natural healing for every year you've been unhealthy, and for most people today that is since before they were born, so 8 months would not be long enough for your body to totally normalize itself. Also as your body is healing it retraces all past symptoms, diseases, organ malfunctions, reactions, weight issues, illnesses, etc. as explained in this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal10.php That is because ALL disease processes are exactly the same as healing and detoxifying processes created by the body itself in an effort to maintain its health, in spite of poor nutrition, toxins, etc. As Taubes writes in his book Good Calories, Bad Calories, p. 142: " . . .the fundamental feature of all living organisms is the interdependence of the parts of the body to the whole . . . " " . . .all physiological systems [body processes] have to work together to assure survival. " " . . all of the vital mechanisms [processes], however varied they may be, have only one object, that of preserving constant the conditions of life in the internal environment. " However, the medical industry labels each and every " sign " of poor health as separate dis-eases, illnesses, symptoms, syndromes, etc. which are actually normal body reactions and processes. In other words, they are simply " signs " the body is attempting to restore its own balance. As Florence Nightengale, the famous nurse, says: " There are no specific diseases; there are [only] specific disease conditions. " People on this healthy program are giving their bodies what they need to become healthy, so they are now able to progress towards health rather than become more and more unhealthy, or dis-eased. Guest guest
Okay, thanks Bee. Sometimes it's just discouraging. I'm working very hard at it and there seems to be no change....and weight gain is the worst change. I also never hear anyone say that after their healing is over that they lose weight. It seems to be that if they have weight to lose they lose it at the start. If anyone can chime in to tell me otherwise I would really appreciate it. Hoping for some hope.... I understood you don't have very much weight to lose, right? Bee
Guest guest
Another thought..... if my body is running on fats now, why isn't the fat sloughing off? And do you know what's going on with this? There are times when I notice my metabolism kick in. I feel very energetic and my stomach gets flat. That's when I feel my food being used for fuel. I especially noticed this feeling when the spring cream was available and when I tried the grass fed ghee. It only lasted for a few days, though. Do I just assume my thyroid is working very hard to heal and someday it will? I'll stop whining now.... Thanks for being so available to us, Bee. Getting healthy has many ups and downs, so it is not a steady uphill climb towards health where you feel better and better every day. As your body gets stronger it becomes more able to heal and detoxifying itself and also balance out nutrient and hormone levels. Yes, of course you assume your whole body, not just your thyroid, is working hard. Mother Nature provides many ways of dealing with poor health, as it does in the environment, soil, plants, and all animals, called " homeostasis " which means: - The ability of an organism or a cell to regulate it's internal conditions, usually by a system of feedback and controls, in order to stabilize health and functioning. - The ability of the body or a cell to seek and maintain a condition of stability and health within its internal environment when dealing with internal or external changes or influences. In humans, homeostasis regulates body temperature in an effort to maintain a normal body temperature around 98.6°. For example, we sweat to cool off in hot weather, and we shiver to produce heat in cold weather. Homeostasis ensures we can act quickly and effectively to threats or danger by automatically switching over to our " fight/flight " nervous system. Homeostasis is also involved when we do not consume nutrients needed for health, so our bodies are forced to pull nutrients from itself, called borrowing or robbing, i.e. protein from muscles or minerals from bones, to ensure vital organs like the heart can function properly. Mother Nature was wise enough to provide our bodies with all of the resources, mechanisms, tools, feedback, etc. that are necessary in order to maintain our bodies' homeostasis. All diseases, symptoms, illnesses, malfunctioning organs, etc. that occur are evidence the body is utilizing it's resources in order to maintain homeostasis. In other words, any changes the body makes are for its optimal survival, including the creation of bugs of any kind, including bacteria, parasites, fungus (candida/yeast). However, the medical industry labels each and every " sign " of poor health as separate dis-eases, illnesses, symptoms, syndromes, etc. which are actually normal body reactions and processes.
