Guest guest
Is too much protein constipating because our digestive system is not designed for a lot of protein or/we don't produce the bacteria/acid like carnivore animals do? Can please include your name at the end of your messages. Thanks in advance. The short answer to your question is yes, too much protein consumption can cause constipation. This is why you should consume good fat i.e coconut oil, butter, olive oil ...etc with your protein which prevents this problem. This is from my Physiology Text Book, so even medical people know this. Carnivores are meat eating animals. Herbivores are plant eating animals like cows. We are called omnivores, so like pigs and birds, we can consume meats, fats and plant foods. However, humans do not have digestive enzymes nor bacteria necesary in order to break down the cellulose (fibers) in all plant foods, which is the cell walls. Eating them forces our large intestines (and sometimes small intestines) to create bacteria, including candida/yeast, in order to break them down. Fibers also speed up digestion so nutrients cannot be absorbed like they should. In addition, fibers make the muscles in the intestines weak and stretch them out. All of those are the causes of digestive problems and many other issues so that's why this is a a low-carb, high good fats, moderate protein program. Read " Comparison Between the Digestive Tracts of a Carnivore, a Herbivore and Man - http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/carn_herb_comparison.html If you lower carbs too fast and do not get your good fats up high enough in ratio to protein you can become constipated, so that's why you change over to this program gradually as explained in my article Curing Candida, How to Get Started. Also your digestive system isn't used to having less fiber/bulk move through it, and it moves more slowly now so nutrients can be absorbed better. But it takes time to rebuild your body's cell which make up the muscles so they become strong enough to move like they should without fibers pushing through them and causing damage and bacteria being formed. All the best, Bee
