post was...what do people here who have full time jobs do for lunch everyday?

I've been going through the menu options on Bee's site. There are a lot of great

options there with recipes. However, what do you do when you obviously can't

prepare your lunch that same day? Do you eat salads everyday? Do you just

prepare them the night before and refrigerate them over night? I'm afraid of

losing the nutritional value of the food. Would you bring it to work in a glass

container...which doesn't really seem realistic. Thanks for any help.

+++Hi Mike,

On this program most people have to plan and prepare ahead of time, which can be

done weekends or the night before.

Yes, you refrigerate them over night or for a week. You can freeze individual

portions of dishes like stew, soup, or other hot foods and take them out the

night before so they are thawed by morning. Then heat them in the morning and

put them in a good thermos (glass is best) so you do not have to use a microwave

at work.

Nutritional value of foods can lower due to long storage, however storing most

foods 1 week does not significantly lower nutritional value in them. If you are

concerned you'd should get up earlier to prepare your foods, which means going

to bed earlier too.

You can put cold foods in some kinds of plastic and stainless steel containers.

Check out the numbers manufacturers put on plastic containers on the internet so

you know what kind to buy.

All the best, Bee

Hey Mike,

I've been on Bee's program for over a year and I have never eaten lunches. I eat

2 meals a day with no snacking and I'm never hungry. This really saves a lot of

time.

But, if I did eat lunches I would cook large amounts of food for dinner and eat

the leftovers all week. That's what I do for my dinners because I really do not

like cooking. I'll throw a bunch of chicken legs in a large baking dish,

sprinkle some herbs on there and bake it. I usually have enough for 3 or 4

dinners, which means I only have to cook every 3 or 4 days. You can get creative

and really simplify things.

You can search this forum for " plastic " and you should get some discussions on

plastic containers. Ed, one of the moderators, has said that any plastic

containers with # 2,4, or 5 are safe to use.
