Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for your site Bee. > I've tried a million different combinations of diet and yours is the only one that keeps my body happy. +++Hi Jeff. That's wonderful! Good for you! > > I am currently dealing with a chronic illness and my body absolutely craves the healthy fats you recommend...it can't get enough. +++What chronic illness do you have? > > 3 questions for you. > > 1. I think I remember reading we can eat unlimited amounts of butter, but you only want us at 6 tablespoons of coconut oil. If we are able to tolerate it is there a problem with eating more or in that case should the balance just be made up with butter (did I mention I LOVE these fats???) +++Since coconut oil is more expensive, the recommended dose is exactly 5.5 tablespoons per day, which is the therapeutic dose. Healthy people like me only need 3 tablespoons per day. There is no need to balance coconut oil with butter or any other goods fats. However, butter provides nutrients coconut oil doesn't so it is important to have it too. > > 2. Now that I've been feeding my body more butter and coconut oil it no longer seems interested in olive oil. Should I be making a concious effort to try and include it as well or is going a few days without the olive oil ok? +++Yes, that is okay. > > 3. I have bowel movement issues (siding more towards constipation). I have been eating the higher level of fats for about 2 weeks and am also using HCL at 10 tablets with no burning. I read on another forum that also advocates higher fat that high intakes of fibrous veggies such as broccoli, cauliflour can " take away " or cancel out the fats. I'm asking because my body loves broc & cauliflower and I eat it daily in pretty moderate amounts! I'm going to adjust my diet to vary up my veggies more, but was just curious if you had anything to say on the subject. I eat quite a bit of veggies period, but they are always cooked and always doused in fats. +++Since you are cooking your vegetables the fibers have been broken down, so they aren't going to cause any issues. I don't believe fibers cancel out fats, however they are very hard on the digestive system. +++You should only consume carbs (all plant foods) up to the amount you calculate for your ratios: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods8.php +++After calculating your protein, fat and carb ratios (see the Simple Calculator on the page above) go to fitday.com and enter the foods you eat. The reason you need to do this is because ratios are in grams which cannot be translated to the quantity of foods you need to consume - see Fitday.com - How to Use it: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods9.php The best in health, Bee
Guest guest
Thank you for the reply Bee! Lyme Disease so really a combination of tick borne diseases. I think I had had this for quite awhile, but an unhealthy lifestyle eventually helped it get the best of me and now I have some pretty serious symptoms the most disturbing being in the brain/nervous system, but I am confident my body can rise again. Since I've only fed myself healthy foods it is amazing how excited my body gets for mealtime and how it only craves the good stuff. I feel lucky not to be tempted. Both my doc and I fully believe the key way out of this box is maximizing my immune system/bodys potential and I believe that's what your diet does for me. He's very happy with my choice of diet. Any comments about the Lyme Disease? In regards to my questions: *I don't go out of my way to take coconut oil or butter. I just put them on my foods since they are so delicious! I believe the answer to my question is basically stick to the 5.5 tablespoons of coconut oil. Sorry the wording of my question might have confused you. When I say balance I mean the amount of healthy fats needed to get to the amount the fit day calculator spits out. In regards to that is any combination of olive oil, butter, avocado ok? I know they all have their own unique properties so I do try and mix it up, but man does my body love some good old grass fed butter. *Yes I have been using fit day. I'm 6'2. Getting the 88 grams of protein is no problem ( body wants more, but I keep it at your ratio). Fats at 220-308 is also not a problem although with the large amount I wanted to make sure I was choosing my fats correctly above the 5.5 of coconut oil and my meats/eggs. 70 grams of carbs however is a quite difficult, especially once I subtract the fiber. I am 175 lbs...a little skinnier than I care to be, but that is not a concern...my concern is health ( for anyone else reading this I was 215 last year so this kind of diet does work if you are trying to get back to a healthy weight...175 is considered a normal weight even though I think it looks light on me). Is consuming less than the 70 grams of carbs acceptable? It really just ends up being a lot of food unless I'm doing something wrong here. Thank you again Bee. -Jeff

His major problem was Crohn's Disease (diarrhea and inflammation of the colon) which he'd had for 20 years before starting on my program. It took him 20 months on my program to heal his Crohn's Disease, and during that 20 months his body also retraced Lyme's disease, completely healing it too. > > In regards to my questions: > > *I don't go out of my way to take coconut oil or butter. I also have an all meat and fat program you might be interested in: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/meat5.php All the best, Bee
