Guest guest Posted September 18, 2002 Report Share Posted September 18, 2002 Hey Group, Wow! I was awoken in the night to my stomach gurgling very loud! Very Loud! What's up with that? Also, I came across a soup yesterday that I ordered. It was cream of Onion soup. Tasted very good. When it came, I looked at it and realized the cream in it was real and very creamy like. I had to tastes of it and decided not to eat for fear of dumping. I haven't had one dumping episide so far (July 10th) or diarhea either. Will I ever be able to have such things or is it just one of those things to always stay away from...dairy I mean? I'm very lucky...I've been able to tolerate most things. Meat, even beef, salad, some bread,...the only thing that really bothers me is scrambled eggs. So what do you all think? 7/10 278/242 _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted September 18, 2002 Report Share Posted September 18, 2002 Hi , I know that dairy is not my friend! I have no problems with cheeses but milk and ice cream make me dump (it took me five times experiencing this before I gave them up!) I have had cream soups like potato and broccoli with no problems but I am also 2 yrs and 4 months post op. I would absolutely wait until you are further out before attempting heavier soups. I couldn't tolerate eggs for the first year but now I have them every morning. It's amazing as time goes on how you can re-introduce your regular foods. Actually I never was an egg eater before the surgery but now I crave them every morning (great source of protein!) I can't tolerate beef or rice, but I can eat beef from a Chinese restaurant (is it really beef??). Hope this helps! Take care, RE: digestion > > Hey Group, > > Wow! Guest guest Posted September 18, 2002 Report Share Posted September 18, 2002 , I would have gone ahead and tried it. Trial and error is really the only way to know what you do well with and what you don't. If you watch the list, the sky is really the limit. Most of us do great with pretty much everything, dairy included, and some have problems. The point is that the same things don't give all of us trouble. Take care, > > Hey Group, > > Wow! Guest guest Posted September 18, 2002 Report Share Posted September 18, 2002 : Could you have milk pre-op? If so; you can try it in small amounts at first and increase slowly. Different things make different people dump. I am 21 months out and have only had one episode where I thought I dumped. It is questionalble but I don't want to try it again to see if I were really dumping. Milkshake was the culpret. I did have a small amount of ice cream the other day and did fine. I have never been one who drank much milk. Not lactose intolerant but just didnt sit well. Phyllis 11-29-2000 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted September 18, 2002 Report Share Posted September 18, 2002 , try it at home first. I don't have any problem with milk products or dairy. How do you do with your yogurt? Guest guest Posted September 18, 2002 Report Share Posted September 18, 2002 , My stomach gurgles very loud a lot! My husband and I giggle about it. I have found this happens most at bedtime - go figure! Maybe it's because I'm still and can hear it. Sandy 7/31/02 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted September 18, 2002 Report Share Posted September 18, 2002 I call the gurgling we get " pipe sounds " . I still get them once in a while. But after I had surgery I had rumbling and grumbling and gurgling noises a lot. I just tried to imagine a long pipe and the food working it's way through the pipe and going kerplunk into the tummy. That's not anatomically correct but it suited my imagination. Flo from land who still gets pipe sounds > ** Original Subject: RE: Re: digestion > ** Original Sender: kaye@... > ** Original Date: 18 Sep 2002 19:57:49 -0000 > ** Original Message follows... > > <html><body> > > > <tt> > , & nbsp; My stomach gurgles very loud a lot! & nbsp; My husband and I giggle about it. & nbsp; I have found this happens most at bedtime - go figure! & nbsp; Maybe it's because I'm still and can hear it.<BR> > Sandy<BR> > 7/31/02<BR> > </tt> > > <br> > > <!-- |**|begin egp html banner|**| --> > > <table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2> > <tr bgcolor=#FFFFCC> > <td align=center><font size= " -1 " color=#003399><b> Sponsor</b></font></td> > </tr> > <tr bgcolor=#FFFFFF> > <td align=center width=470><table border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0> <tr> <td align=center><font face=arial size=-2>ADVERTISEMENT</font><br><a href= " http://rd./M=234081.2377872.3808768.2225242/D=egroupweb/S=1705061\ 104:HM/A=1225249/R=0/*http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;4547220;7007303;v?http://www\ ..ameriquestmortgage.com/welcome.html?ad=01 " ><img src= " http://us.a1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/a/am/ameriquest/ron_clock_300x250.gi\ f " alt= " " width= " 300 " height= " 250 " border= " 0 " ></a></td></tr></table></td> > </tr> > <tr><td><img alt= " " width=1 height=1 src= " http://us.adserver./l?M=234081.2377872.3808768.2225242/D=egroupmai\ l/S=:HM/A=1225249/rand=901501048 " ></td></tr> > </table> > > <!-- |**|end egp html banner|**| --> > > > <br> > <tt> > Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted July 12, 2004 Report Share Posted July 12, 2004 Hi, I am a beginner to sprouting and I was wondering what seeds would be best to use for a breakfast cereal that would enhance digestion???? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest guest Posted March 15, 2010 Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 For digestion, you may need to take HCL and then a full specturm enzyme blend such as Allzyme by Rainbow Light and then a blend of intestonal flora such as Kyo-Dopholous ( sp?) by Wakunaga. There are other brands that may be stronger, but these are the basics to good digestion. You can face poor digestion if the food is not broken down to absorb in the stomach lining ( the HCL--I take Hydrozyme by biotics, but Solaray makes HCL with Pepsin). Once the food is broken down (usually take the HCl in the middle of your meal), then take the digestive enzymes after, or mid meal and then afterwards. Definitely take the intestonal flora. Changes are you need to take at leasst 2 per meal or more. Jag maybe unrelated to your questions, but millet is a thyroid blocker. Alsothe craving for carbs and aversion to meat suggests that your copper andzinc might be out of balance. This is seen when there is copperoverload. It may be connected to problems with yeast. A highcopper/mercury environment favours yeast growth - the yeast causes carbs craving.As well as Cordyceps, the herb Milk Thistle could help. It protects andnourishes both liver and kidneys.I'd also suggest digestive enzymes - the enzymes help with more thanjust digestion - there are used for healing wherever there is a problem.Gail >> Hi everyone. Guest guest Posted January 8, 2011 Report Share Posted January 8, 2011 thanks bee for answering my question about drinking with meals. i have been told not to. i recently went on a veg juice fast and liver cleanse for 7 days with colonics and after she wouldnt let me drink after juices or after meals after fast, my nutritionist at present said no drinking but it i dont drink 2 glasses of water my food never moves. i also have a pancreatin deficiency so i need lots digestive enzymes. i use the body ecolody assist veg enzymes and gi small assist pancreatin enzymes and hcl and pepsin. is it ok to have green veg juices in the morning. i only drink water or water with bit lemon and bit salt in as i have a tendency for low sodium as i drink so much. i drink 5 litres water day to keep hydrated as i have a history of bowel impaions and i get paranoid. if i eat and drink 1 - 2 glasses how long after this should u wait before u drink again. u say take hcl 40 mins after meals can u drink 1 - 2 glasses with this. for some reason i am waking tasting supplements and food i have eaten. also coco oil or oils seems to sit and dont digest. i started taking the nature sunshine food enzymes but woke up tasting the ox bile not dissolving. any ideas. nutritionist says upper pyloric splincter or ic valve and no to eat raw food. is it okj to take bitters before meals to stim digestion. also colosan or oxypowder when needed. some days i fast on water or just have veg juice, and fish and veg for lunch and another veg juice for tea. is this ok Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
