I'm not sure what to say about that but you might try contacting Dr.

Rutledge and ask him about it. He should be able to tell you. God Bless you.

Hi ,

Sorry I cannot help, I just know that Dr. R checked my liver when he did my

MGB and said it was medium, meaning I did have some fatty liver. I thought

it was due to obesity. Wish you all the best.

,

I was diagnosed with it before my surgery, but it wasn't too bad. They said

they'd watch it and each year I get blood tests. Mine was not all that

extensive. So, I really don't do anything for it.

Anyone on the board with fatty liver disease?

i was just diagnosed with this at 115 pounds, 6 years post-op. I don't

drink. I am 32 years old. My doctor thinks it was caused my malnurishment

due to the surgery or massive weight loss.

Just curious if anyone else has this and what they do about it.

That's odd that you didn't have it pre-op and you do now??? The reason I say

this is because I remember in my post-op meeting with Dr's Rutledge and Cherry,

they said I had a slight case of it but that the weight loss would cure it.

That's all I know about that!

Thanks.

-Hi , I was diagnosed with it when I had my MGB. A year later,

Dr. R said I had some scaring, but that it was a normal liver (when he

did a revision). I have periodic liver enzyme tests, but nothing has

shown up. I would bet that it is from the years of being overweight,

not from the MGB and being 115 lbs.

I would get a second opinion. FATty liver disease caused by LOSING

weight? Like I said... Get a second opinion, actually a double-check

is in order ANY time you get a diagnosis of anything serious.

My best to you. I hope it is a mistake.

Hi Bee and All ... I have been basically following the candida diet for more

than 6 months now with some signs of improvement, I feel. I have recently

sought help (due to extreme and unreasonable abdominal pain) from a colon

surgeon. In his process of testing, I had a CT scan last week, which I saw the

report for the first time today. The CT scan report said " Fatty Liver. " I know

that that means unprocessed fat in the liver, and I've read that the cause of

Fatty Liver Disease is not known. I should mention that this is non-alcohol

related Fatty Liver Disease, as I do not drink alcohol. Please help set my mind

at ease about continuing to eat lots of healthy saturated fat. I just need a

little reassurance right now. I am not at all done with the medical testing

yet, and my surgeon feels I may have a neurological problem, because he said

that no colon condition, including IBS, can cause the kind of pain I've endured

for years now. Thank you so much for your kind help in advance.
