Guest guest
Hi all, I have been on this candida diet a little over two weeks now and have been following these posts and reading Bee's articles to try to figure this all out, but I just have some questions. I haven't been able to fully follow Bee's diet because I am a vegan, have been for a very long time, and I won't eat meat, eggs, or butter. I normally get my protein from nuts, beans, and soy, but I see none of these are permitted on Bee's diet. The diet I had been following for the last two weeks does permit nuts and beans and I have been including those to get protein. The reason I went on this diet is that I have had a vaginal yeast infection for over a year now that I can't seem to shake using conventional and natural methods. It is stubborn and will not go away so, I read that a diet change may help. Unfortunately, being vegan carbs make up most of diet. I am a very small person in general and at this point only weigh 100 pounds. I am afraid without anything but vegetables and oil in my diet I will not be obtaining enough nutrients and will lose a ton of weight/get unhealthier. I have been eating whole grain brown rice and Quinoa to try to keep some weight on, but I see these are not permitted either. I had no symptoms of candida besides the vaginal yeast infection before starting this diet, but since starting it I have developed symptoms. Does this make sense? The fifth day I was on the diet I became very ill with flu like symptoms. Vomiting, chills, fever, back pain, stomach pain and aches for three days. Since then I have become very tired and very constipated, something I have never had issues with before. About every 5 days or so I have a day that I can have a bowel movement, but then it is diarrhea. And recently I have developed vaginal bleeding, or spotting, it is not time for my menstrual cycle, and I am usually fairly regular, but for the last four days I have had bleeding. Just wondering if you had any advice for me on how to keep on weight/get protein, and if I was doing something wrong to be developing symptoms I have never had before. Appreciate all your help and this group, it was a blessing to stumble upon since the first few weeks of this diet can be scary and confusing.
