Guest guest
I searched your site but did not find an answer to my concern. I know that B12 Deficiency can be hereditary due to Intrinsic Factor Deficiency. Also B12 Deficiency can be caused by H.Pylori which I have had in the past and took antibiotics to get rid of. Also it can be caused by lack of Hydrochloric Acid, and a list of other disorders. If stomach mucosa has been damaged by the H.Pylori or if I suffer from a lack on Intrinsic Factor or the stomachs inability to produce Hydrochloric Acid. Can these things be repaired with this diet. It is present in the gastric juice (stomach acid) as well as in the stomach's mucous membrane. Dietary vitamin B12 is released from ingested proteins in the stomach through the action of pepsin and acid (HCl). It is rapidly bound by one of two vitamin B12-binding proteins that are present in gastric juice. It is present in the fundus, which is the body of the stomach. H. Pylori doesn't affect the entire stomach since it is created in the bottom of the stomach on the left side of the pyloric sphincter, which separates the stomach and the duodenum (the first part of the small intestines). When I had tests for my h. pylori ulcer, the ulcers were located at that pyloric sphincter. What makes you think you are not absorbing vitamin B 12? If you follow all of my instructions for improving your digestion, it should increase your stomach's ability to produce stomach acid like it should, and therefore the Intrinsic Factor would be there to help your body utilize Vitamin B 12 - see this: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro2.php#s28 However, stress interferes with the stomach's production of stomach acid, etc., so that is also why you need to do regular deep breathing exercises, do things that help you relax, stay away from bad news, avoid people who are toxic to you, and also avoid or handle stresses as much as possible. Also remember that all of the nutrients (diet plus supplements) work together so following this program completely improves your overall health, your ability to handle stresses, and also increases your digestive capabilities. So that means that just improving digestion isn't enough either. Bee
Guest guest
I have had a B12 deficiency in the past....diagnosed through blood. I don't know if I do now...but I do know that I have always been thin and gaining weight has always been difficult....I just read that B12 deficiency can cause an inability to gain weight. I've not been able to gain weight for 7 years. Also, I noticed last night that I have a sweet taste on my lips....It was also there this morning and is still there not at 9:00pm as I'm typing this. Does that mean I'm in Ketosis? January is my 6th month on the diet......Thanks, Gail (curlygirl) > > I searched your site but did not find an answer to my concern. > > I know that B12 Deficiency can be hereditary due to Intrinsic Factor Deficiency. When your body is ready and able, it will normalize its own weight. Also you cannot depend upon blood tests for any nutrient or hormone levels since they use vein blood - this is explained in Message #93109. It is possible your body is in Ketosis.
