Guest guest
Hi , I know exactly how you feel. We do the best we can with the information we receive. If we discover there's a better option then we go for it and count our blessings. How lucky we are to be able to tap into so much knowledge. Without the internet we were stuck to do research in the library or just blindly trust what our doctor says. We have power now. All the best, > > So after the himalayan salt disappointment, and seeing that I not only > have to order salt asap, but I have about 23 lbs of salt I can't use, I > checked my Frontier yeast flakes, to find, as someone else pointed out > earlier this week, they contain RICE FLOUR. > > I'm already discouraged today, so these issues coming to light aren't > helping my attitude. However, I can't find anywhere that says they contain rice flour. I also looked up the frontier website and read about the Frontier yeast flakes, but I can't find there that they contain rice flour. When did you find that information? Was it on the packet somewhere? It's not in the list of ingredients. http://www.frontiercoop.com/products.php?ct=dfmhf & cn=Yeast%2C+Nutritional Blessings,
Guest guest
The yeast flakes I have list rice flour as one of the ingredients. I checked their website and they have different types of yeast flakes, some that apparently have flour, and some that don't. Just need to check the ingredients when you order, which I didn't before. Sigh. Another lesson learned, I guess. > > > checked my Frontier yeast flakes, to find, as someone else pointed > out > > > earlier this week, they contain RICE FLOUR. > > > > > > I'm already discouraged today, so these issues coming to light aren't > > > helping my attitude. Guest guest
Hello, I had the same issue and brought this up on the board. I bought frontier and took two scoops and read the label and it says fice flour. You are gonna have to check the bag, i googled the brand it appears they make a nutritional yeast flakes with rice flour. So...you'll have to read your ingredients to see if it has rice flour. I was highly disappointed and frustrated as well. thankfully i only took it once. Chalk it up to a big time cheat?lol Hang in there. Best of luck casey > > So after the himalayan salt disappointment, and seeing that I not only > have to order salt asap, but I have about 23 lbs of salt I can't use, I > checked my Frontier yeast flakes, to find, as someone else pointed out > earlier this week, they contain RICE FLOUR. > > I'm already discouraged today, so these issues coming to light aren't > helping my attitude. Don't become overly concerned since everything else you are doing on this program are helping your body heal itself, so these 2 things are very minor by comparison. Guest guest
lol, there are 10 of us in this household, and though only 4 of us are on the program, I'm trying to do healthier by everyone, like changing things such as their type of salt, etc, when possible. There is a big per pound discount for buying in bulk, which I'm used to, to feed this crew economically. I'm always of the mind that when I find a great deal on something I know we'll use, and won't go bad, buy a lot. Of course, sometimes that mind-set does turn around to bite me, like ordering 25 lbs of salt that was a mistake. Guest guest
Hi , I'm not sure what Bee would say about this, but I wondered whether, rather than wasting the Himalayan salt, whether you could use it for bathing in? I would have thought that although it may contain less minerals and trace elements than sea salt, that it might still be useful for that purpose, as long as you are getting your consumption of sea salt. Guest guest
Hi . Well done for trying!! It can be disappointing when you get stuff and it's not right. I have several pots of Betaine HCL in my cupboard that have turned out not to be needed, but sometimes things have to be trial and error a bit before we get it right! Now then, what other ideas for the salt are there? Making salt dough with the kids? Salt science? ( http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/family/uses-for-salt-childrens-activities-ga.htm ). Salt paint - ( http://crafts.kaboose.com/salt-art.html ). I can see that there might be a fair amount of salt dough gifts floating around your friends and family during the next few months...:0D! Guest guest
I was also thinking of buying a 25-pound quantity of the pink salt, but my cash flow wasn't good enough!! As it was, I had 3 bags of pink salt (different coarsenesses) which were all less than 1/3 full. After getting the warning about the pink salt, I ordered some of the gray salt from the original place where I'd bought it (Village Market, San Francisco). Got 4 bags, 2.2 pounds each, for a total of 8.8 pounds. That should last a while, as there are only two of us here. With Village Market, when my cash flow is better, I will actually order about 6 bags at a time, because that is how many bags of salt will fit in their boxes for a flat shipping fee of $10.70. Same thing when meat is on sale... stock up if I have room for it and save money.
