Guest guest
Hi Amy,  Thanks for your email...it was very encouraging...I have seen many counsellors over the years ....to help mainly overcome an eating disorder....so I felt like a mental case patient for 20 plus years, not knowing I was dealing with candida since I was 10 ish...also having no thyroid(cancer in 1991 and 1998)  alone can cause great depression/anxiety when not treated properly with the right meds....so I am on my way to a better life with this diet etc..(I will be 40 next week...so I pray that in 3 years or so I will feel better for the first time in my life).  I homeschool my 15 year old son who has/had ADHD...he has been off his meds for 3 weeks now (been on them for 7 years)...so he has been on the diet too..so he is experiencing things also......at times I just want to be alone and cry.... as I said a lot of emotional and physical discomfort...but I have to keep going...and if I slip and cheat...get up and keep going...that is a daily chant for me...  I too prepare as much food as I can in advance..and freeze meats etc and bone broth.. ...I find it hard to cook for my kids when I want to avoid the temptation of being around food I know I should not eat....also food shopping in a supermarket is another temptation zone that I would rather avoid....  If I lived alone..I would just prepare an egg drink and go to bed early!!!....but I can't do what I know my body needs at times..(that I am sure many mums go through)..which I find so frustrating!! But at other times having the kids around helps me stay on track as they know what I should and shouldn't be eating.   Anyway, As Bee says Onward and Upward,  ---  Hi , I dealt with depression on an off for many years before starting Bee's program. I took some antidepressants as well. I don't know if I would call what I felt/feel " retracing " or just my hormones balancing out, but going through some depression now while on Bee's program (knowing that it will eventually be over) makes it MUCH easier to handle. I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Also, don't be afraid to ask for help. I have been seeing a therapist and luckily she herself battled candida so she understands. But, there could also be some real emotional/repressed reasons you are experiencing depression so look at it as a journey (not a disease) and as an opportunity to be rid of the " baggage " you may have been carrying around for years. Finally, prepare for it! If you know your hormones and such need to balance and it may be hard to function (or even get out of bed) do your cooking when you feel good...even if those good days are scarce. I have a stash of " depression food " in my freezer, haha. It's healthy food for the days I cant stop crying and eating mac & cheese would be easier and more comforting. I just pop out a container of Chicken Vindaloo (my total fav from Bee's recipe group) and make myself eat it. Hope this is helpful honey ~Amy > > ] >
Guest guest
Dear , Although I am not in your situation because I don't have children, I just want to say that the first year and a half I was on Bee's program (I'm nearing 2 years), I went through a lot of extremely rough times: I used to cry many times a week and felt like my world would end the next day. All of that has passed, and the only time I get mildly emotional is right before my period. Bee's program is amazing, but the trick is to hang on and keep at it. I hope this helps you and your son. Best wishes, Helene --- En date de : Mer 25.5.11, Hawe <jenny.hawe@...> a écrit : De: Hawe <jenny.hawe@...> Objet: Re: [ ] Re: depression/healing À: Date: Mercredi 25 mai 2011, 16h36  Hi Amy,  Thanks for your email...it was very encouraging...I have seen many counsellors over the years ....to help mainly overcome an eating disorder....so I felt like a mental case patient for 20 plus years, not knowing I was dealing with candida since I was 10 ish...also having no thyroid(cancer in 1991 and 1998)  alone can cause great depression/anxiety when not treated properly with the right meds....so I am on my way to a better life with this diet etc..(I will be 40 next week...so I pray that in 3 years or so I will feel better for the first time in my life).
