Guest guest
Hi Bee, I know that you have said it is not necessary to drink the recommended 8 glasses a day, but merely drink when you are thirsty, however, it seems that plenty of water may be needed to flush the ketones and toxins out of the body when you are low-carbing. I know that when I was following Dr Batmanghelidj's protocol before starting your diet I was very slowly but steadily losing weight - maybe only 1lb or so a week but at least it was losing rather than gaining. I only did the 8 glasses a day protocol for around 2 or 3 months but it did help. I do know that I have NEVER drunk enough water. For years my body always seemed to interpret thirst as hunger and I would eat instead. I suspect, that at a cellular level I am probably pretty dehydrated, so I do feel that I need to drink more water if I can. Some days I have a job to down much more than a liter of fluid. I thought this little section was interesting - http://www.inch-aweigh.com/water.html Ali.

I found that when I went on high fat and protein I naturally drink more water anyway, so I still drink to thirst. That's why I have 4 Britta Pitchers, 2 in the fridge and 2 on my counter. Cells can only utilize water (hydrate themselves) if you have the correct combination of goods fats, along with minerals, particularly sulphur, as Dr. Cowan explains here: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/skin2.php Of course cell membranes need time in order to change over to 50% saturated fat (lung cells need 100%). But as I always say, all of the nutrients (diet plus supplements) work together. Also toxins cause problems for cellular health as in this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/cabout1.php All the best, Bee
