That's a valid point, for sure.

On the other hand, the number of respondents for the poll was quite small,

so by the time you isolate corrections for age, there would be no

statistical signifcance to the numbers

Hi Marc,

I noticed in one of your posts that you mention having silver/mercury

fillings replaced with plastic.

I am already in the process of having 3 silver/mercury fillings replaced by

gold. The lab has already built my new teeth. I'm curious how gold impacts

ES? Others are now telling me gold is not the best for sensitivities

either?

Hi Glenn,

I had 20+ amalgams removed about a year ago and am much better for it

(less irritable and less emf sensitive) but the main reason I had this

procedure done was to remove the mercury left in the filings from my

mouth. I assume a bunch of the stuff had leaked into me and am slowly

getting back to health. I found sensitivty to electrical fields very

much diminished.

However Gold may still interact with emf or radio signals I dont know -

but I just wanted to encourage you that amalgams are pretty darn bad

from the mercury point of view. I could not afford the gold fillings

anyhow hehe..

If you decide not to go with the gold, get it melted down and give

someone special a ring or something :-) - maybe with a tooth shaped crest...

Cheers

Yes, I have a booklet called " The ABC's on Mercury Poisoning from Mercury

Amalgam Fillings " , and it mentions ES being one of the many health problems

caused by caused by these fillings. It recommends replacing all *metal*

fillings in your mouth for people with ES, not just the mercury ones.

Apparently gold + mercury in your mouth plus exposure to high EMF fields is

the worst case scenario in terms of corroding the mercury fillings -- both

the gold present in the mouth and the high EMF fields cause the mercury

corrosion rate to accelerate. The gold does this via a " Battery Effect " --

that is, when you combine the mercury and saliva and gold in the mouth, a

" battery " is setup in your mouth, and the mercury is the " terminal " which

ends up corroding the fastest.

When I had my mercury fillings removed, I also had a porcelain crown

removed just because it had a thin layer of gold as the " glue " which held

it to the tooth!

I also found that I got terrible headaches while using a CRT monitor while

wearing reading glasses, due the small amount of metal in the glasses

(plastic glasses are better, but even they have those small metal screws

which still cause a small problem). Using contacts or nothing at all

causes me no such headaches.

Thanks Marc and Pete for your responses.

I already had one gold crown, with 7 large silver/mercury fillings, and one

chunk of silver amalgum stuck in the side of my gum making my gum purple (no

explanation as to how it got there, but it came out by itself). So I had a

mercury factory going on in my mouth with the gold leaching the mercury.

I've contacted my dentist to change my order to get non-metal crowns etc.

Luckily 50% of gold work is covered by dental plan, so I won't feel the hit

too hard having them redone.

I am curious how long you guys felt ill from having the mercury fillings

removed?

Cheers,

Glenn

Although I already had chronic fatigue, and although I used a holistic

dentist that removed the fillings as safely as possible, I felt pretty

terrible for about 2 weeks after getting the fillings removed. I think

my body was dumping mercury at an accelerated pace following the amaglam

removals, which was the reason for feeling so bad.

Yes, I had also had some fillings that probably had not been

replaced for 20 years.

> From what I read here in the list, I am not sure what is worse, to have them

I think it's worse to have them remain in your mouth. However,

you should have them removed by a dentist who can remove them

quickly (not much drilling), and also use a rubber dam in your

mouth to prevent mercury vapor from going down your throat.

Also, you should have them replaced with some plastic/composite

white-colored fillings.

Also, you should also be taking a good antioxidant and/or

vitamins and minerals to help you deal with the mercury,

plus foods high in fiber and other types of foods which

will attach to the mercury.

If you just have the fillings out without precautions, or

without the proper nutritional support, you do risk

making yourself worse. However, if you keep the fillings

in your mouth, then you continue to get daily exposure

to mercury vapor, which will also make you worse.

Hi,

1) I cannot tell you what to , follow your intuition.

2) yes, all of them as soon as i could

3) yes and i would do it sooner. Had it done in two sessions (had nine_ the

first with anast.... the next without and no pain, then they were not so deep

and i had just experienced such pain that any pain really could not top that.

At the time i did not know about any danger of mercury filling removal. was

following my intuition and think licorice and himalayan rock salt, (or not

knowing about these dangers) prevented any any problems. I only felt better. The

experience i had before was probably more extreme than most here and there was a

lot of pain stemming from the fillings as if they were an antenna for bad

energies. There is the option of demagnetising your fillings as well, just to

throw that in. A lil' fact though if you have more than four fillings you cannot

spit in the toilet legally (the amount of mercury is greater than you in an

other circumstance could dispose off..)

In everything you do, follow your intuition. This tactics has found me the

answers, supplements, healers and reading material to bring me to almost symtom

free!1

I have had all mine removed. I believe it is ESSENTIAL to good health.

I was only painful to my pocket book.

Do it right by the protocol or you may regret it big time.

Any detoxing must be done consciously and not haphazardly. The mercury

fillings must be removed before any other detox can be complete (in my

opinion).

I had a blood test done and had the blood sent to a lab where they

tested my blood to see what kind of reactions it had to all the

different materials that dentists use where they then recommended what

materials my blood didn't have a reaction to. It was a few hundred

dollars. Don't know if they have anything like that in the UK if that

is where you are from. You might find it through a google search for

ddental filling removal mercury or something like that. Believe it or

not I felt really good when I had my plastic fillings removed and

replaced as well as the ones that were amalgom. I had a lot of

fillings. If you only have two I would definitely get them replaced.

I had a bad reaction after the first replacement. I could definitely

feel all the symptoms of mercury toxicity big time. It has taken me a

lot of detoxing for a long time to feel better. But I think it was

essential to getting well. But that is just based on how I feel. No

objective tests. There are those who say that you can't really get

well until you have them removed. And it may be that it is necessary

to detox all the mercury out before the nerve insulation or mylan

sheath can heal itself. Just a guess.

I did, 5 years ago.

At the time, a lot of my health problems went away immediately upon

having my fillings removed. The ES did not go away immediately, but

now, 5 years later, it is certainly much better.

I would go through it again, but make sure you go to a " holistic "

dentist, who will get the fillings out quickly. It was not painful

for me.

Hi. I have NOT had mine removed as I have heard of people who have got

worse as a result. Although I realise that good dentists shield the

throat so that mercury fragmants and dust don't get ingested - I am not

confident that the body would be protected from extra exposure. I am

pretty much satisfied that I have been able to get most of the mercury

out of my body...although am not sure at trhe rate that it is going back

in from the fillings that are still there.

Maybe I'm just too chicken - but I'm happy the way things are.

Hello,

from amalgam tooth fillings, the mercury is slowly coming out and disappers

into the body.

Then one has a heavy metal poisoning.

By electrosmog, that is high frequency as well as low frequency (50-60 Hz)

the chemical composition changes, so the mercury can get loose much faster.

(Many people with Tinnitus, sounds in the ears, state the source of HF and

amalgam.)

There was a study published in 2003 in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease,

called " Apolipoprotein E genotyping as a potential biomarker for mercury

neurotoxicity. " Here is an abstract of that article.

From this study, it appears as though people with the Apolipoprotein E

epsilon-4 gene allele can't excrete metals like those with the epsilon-2

or -3 allele, and are especially at risk for buildup of Hg in the brain. So

having this allele could predispose someone to faster rates of Hg uptake

than others in the populace and, thus, create greater susceptibility to

Hg-based pathologies like ES.

This is a possible reason why some of us get ES and others don't. And it may

have some bearing on how much more chelation is needed for those with the

epsilon-4 allele to successfully treat their ES.

In a new book, yet to be released, it is mentioned that our body actually

does have a natural ability to detox mercury, but it does it at the expense

of depleting our glutathione (GSH) production.

As soon as mercury arrives in our body, it steals an electron from a

glutathione molecule, rendering it useless. Then we don't have enough

glutathione to battle with free radicals to keep rest of our body healthy.

One result is hypothyroidism (along with about 50 other potential health

problems).

So the writer strongly suggests glutatione enhancement through some of the

following so we can naturally detox mercury and keep rest of body healthy:

* Vitamin C - maintains GSH levels

* Beta-Carotene - enhances GSH production

* Vitamin E - enhances GSH production

* Selenium - GSH cofactor

* N-Acetyl-Cysteine - raises GSH levels

* Alpha-Lipoic Acid - enhances cellular and extracellular GSH

* SAM-e - Raises RBC and liver GSH levels

* Riboflavin - Facilitates GSH-Px system

* Niacin - Facilitates GSH-Px system

* Cysteine - Metabolic precursor - raises GSH levels

The writer mentioned that from clinical tests in Sweden, it was apparent

that people that had their amalgam fillings removed naturally detoxed

mercury by 50% within one year.

He also mentioned that mercury that goes beyond the blood-brain barrier is

much more difficult to detox.

I purchased that book 5 years ago, so I assume it's available... :-)

But actually, I personally did not find that book to be much help.

The suggestions on what to do almost entirely depended on using

prescription medicines and synthetic vitamin supplements. I have

found that in my own case, I don't respond to these, or when I

do, the reaction is negative. So I mostly use food-based, more

natural supplements, which have turned out to work much better

for me.

I'm sure that some people DO get worse from having their fillings

removed.

Taking the fillings out DOES expose one to a lot of mercury during the

procedure, and no amount of precautions can prevent some exposure. But

if people take antioxidants and other stuff to neutralize the mercury

and get it out of your body, they should be okay (and even improved!)

I think there are a couple -- do a search on mercury poisoning

That said, I'm not sure if there are mercury poisoning worth

Hi Marc!

Its a great great list you have started!

> recommending -- one of them is run by Andy Cutler, who will

> insult anyone who is not using his protocol, and claim that

> all of the competing products are " scams " .

Have you tried some of the " scams " ? If you have, please tell all

about it, or refer to an old posting. Btw, Cutler dont rule ot that

Chlorella + Choriander with a correct protocol could work. But he

doesnt recommend it because its not proven to work. The thing to

avoid is mobilizing and redistributing mercury, thats why the

protocol is important. Even Klinghardt says that to little Chlorella

would be harmful - the redistribution again.. I got the tip about

Cutler from a guy up northern sweden and he is now well after a few

years being bedridden. His mother-in-law insisted that he remove his

amalgam! She even paid for it. Then he was done for. So there seem

to be exceptions never to look a gift horse in the mouth!!! :-P

> Have you tried some of the " scams " ?

I have tried many of the mercury chelators that the so-called

experts called scams, and from my viewpoint they do provoke

the same type of mercury mobilization and excretion reactions

that the prescription chelators do. I've tried NDF, PCA-Rx,

Mercury Magnet, Natures Balance Chlorella, Dragon's River

Cilantro Tincture, Seagreens, Modifilan, CLNZ, activated

charcoal, hydrated bentonite, Microhydrin, and probably

some others that I've forgotten about.

I think my ES is mostly due to heavy metals being mobilized

when I'm exposed to certain types of electromagnetic fields,

so taking a chelator that mobilizes more metals simply makes

my ES symptoms worse. For me, the items which help bind to

metals already mobilized into the bloodstream and gets them

out of my system seems to provide the most immediate and

obvious improvement.

Of the list above, I've taken a lot of Microhydrin (now

called Megahydrin), NDF, and CLNZ, and have dabbled a

little with the others. Right now, I'm mostly experimenting

with Mercury Magnet and Activated Charcoal, which are

both advertised as being binders but not mobilizers. Both

provoke pains in my head and feet, which seems rather

odd for something that's supposed to stay in the gut,

I suppose there could be some indirect detox due to

cleaning up the bloodstream.

In general, I have found chlorella (any brand) makes my

ES much worse. I know that Dr. Klinghardt wants people

to take massive doses of Nature's Balance chlorella so

that it binds more than it mobilizes, but I find that

I'm intolerant to large doses of *any* chelator -- even

now, 4 years after all of the metals have been removed

from my mouth. I think this may be due to nervous

system damage, which is why I've also been experimenting

with fatty acids (coconut oil, evening primrose oil,

borage oil -- and next up, egg yolks)

Hi Marc!

RGO - You know, we are just making this up! Or so I was told by the

chief editor in a two page article in the latest leading magazine

for swedish physicians. Yeah, doctors are doctors, no help there. It

wouldnt be worth mentioning if it wasn't for one thing. What annoyed

this paid off gangster was 1) the thought that amalgam was dangerous

and 2) that ES existed. All in one sentence! With a little

imagination you get first the cause and then the effect..

RGO - Thats a lot! How was the Bentonite? How long did you use it?

> I think my ES is mostly due to heavy metals being mobilized

> when I'm exposed to certain types of electromagnetic fields,

RGO - Thats exactly what I think too!

Prof. Boyd haley, biochemist has shown how mercury damages the blood

brain barrier and get into the brain. I believe it is when mercury

gets there that you get ES. Possibly in combination with some other

xenobiotic. As mercury can get intracellular, so can other bad stuff.

> so taking a chelator that mobilizes more metals simply makes

> my ES symptoms worse.

RGO - When I expose myself too long a time to the computer I get

headache and a high pitched tone in my head. Its very unpleasant. If

I start a cycle of DMSA/ALA these symptoms disappear in a few hours.

For each cycle I tolerate the computer for longer and longer

periods.

> For me, the items which help bind to

> metals already mobilized into the bloodstream and gets them

RGO - I believe too that the body will clear out the mercury in a

few years with correct nutrition. The real challenge I see is the

brain. Mercury is supposed to have a halflife of 25 years in the

brain. So how do we help it cross the bloodbrain barrier and get

out? As you know now, I'm following the ALA lead with much progress

so far. Still I'm very interested in other ways, and healing

components too, since I noticed taking Essential Fatty Acids further

increased my resistance to electropollution.

> Of the list above, I've taken a lot of Microhydrin (now

> called Megahydrin), NDF, and CLNZ, and have dabbled a

RGO - I haven't tried any of those. Before what I do now I tried

homeopathic mercury, MSM, Chlorella and Choriander. And some sort of

chalk, the chalk helped the most. But then I became a Cutler

disciple..

> Right now, I'm mostly experimenting

> with Mercury Magnet and Activated Charcoal

RGO - They dissected the intestines of a man who had removed his

amalgams 15 years before he died. He still had loads of mercury in

the intestines.

> Both provoke pains in my head and feet, which seems rather

> odd for something that's supposed to stay in the gut,

RGO - I have taken activated charcoal but didnt get headache, maybe

you are drinking too little water? Lots of water eases headache. I

drink about 1.5-2 litres a day. (Not chlorinated)

RGO - I dont believe that method keep mercury from wandering into

the brain.. I did Chlorella + Choriander for three weeks and got

more ES from it. But what I would like to know is what effect

Choriander in combination with ALA/DMSA/Charcoal has. But I wouldnt

try it, not yet. Maybe in a year, when there is less mercury left.

RGO - Check up phosphatidyl choline if you havent already.

I used bentonite for many months back in 2001, which was before

I got my fillings removed. The brand name was " Arise & Shine " ,

and I mixed it with psyllium. ly, it didn't seem to do

much. I've even tried some more recently and it still didn't

seem to do much. I have a much stronger reaction to the

activated charcoal, and in much smaller amounts.

I also tried a clay product called " Terramin " , but this caused

me to become a bit agitated, so I stopped taking it pretty

quickly.

I seem to recall that NDF actually helped my ES symptoms, but I

wondered if it was the alcohol content or the probiotic content.

Probiotics help me extend my computer usage. I used to use the

kind that required refrigeration, but I've found that " Primal

Defense " (which doesn't require refrigeration) works just fine

for me. That is, after they changed one of minor ingredients

from chlorella to barley grass (I couldn't stand it when it

contained chlorella).

Well, as you've already pointed out, EMF damages the blood

brain barrier, so I don't think there is any trouble for

things to cross the barrier for folks with ES.

Any specific essential fatty acids? I find that things which

contain GLA (evening primrose oil, oatmeal, borage oil) help

my ES. I have not noticed any difference from taking omega-3

fatty acids (flax seed oil) however. I have not experimented

with fish oil...

Oh, I also tried oral Calcium EDTA. I didn't like it.

I found that in my early doses of charcoal, that it made me

extremely dehydrated. This doesn't seem to be happening

anymore, but I have also cut by dosage way back.

I've seen that for sale, but since I'm currently experimenting

with 3 kinds of inositol / choline, I think anything else

will have to wait (I think I'm experimenting with too many

things in parallel right now...)

RGO - I have kind of neglected EFA's until recently. Now I know they

are required not only for repair but for the bodys detox system. I

gonna read up on them some more. Anyways, lacking more knowledge I

began to take (2-3 times a day after a meal) 1 teaspoon each of

linseed oil, borage oil, fishoil and olive oil. Within a week I was

more energetic and resistant to EMF. I think vit E is a very good

supplement together with the oils.
