Guest guest
Hello Bee and forum members!!! My name is Sara and like many others I have found this group out of many desperate searches on the internet for help and advice on medical issues. Here is a very short version of my story that has lead me here: In July/August of 2010 I developed Bacterial Vaginosis. It took 3 antibiotics to get rid of it. First I took Metrogel. Did nothing. Then I took Clydamiacin. Still didn't do anything. Then I finally took oral Metronidazole and that finally kicked it out of my system. This was a period of 6 weeks. Within this period I also found out that I have high-risk HPV. About a week or so after kicking the BV out of my system I started to develop chronic diarrhea. I thought I was detoxing from a tea but I was getting more and more sick. I finally went to a G.I. specialist and found out that I had contracted the C. Difficile toxin. I also developed hives out of nowhere and my upper lip swelled up to 3 times it's size!!! Ironically, the only thing to get rid of C. Diff is another antibiotic and it just so happened to be the oral Metronidazole that I needed to take. I had to take 2 rounds of it. In between the two separate doses I felt my BV start to come back. I am not having the normal symptoms associated with BV. Most woman have the cottage cheese discharge and fishy smell. I have neither of those. Instead, I have swelling, soreness and tenderness inside my vagina and it's VERY umcomfortable. I gave up on medical doctors and sought the help of a holistic doctor and he pretty much helped me rebuild my stomach. He also put me on a diet that's very similar to yours, Bee. However I still have the BV issues. So, this WHOLE situation has been going on for almost 7 months and because of it, I now look at health and nutrition in a completely different light. I am yearning for a healthy lifestyle and I want nothing more than to be healthy. Just wanted to know if anyone is going through something similar to me. It's always nice to talk about it with others. I have questions but will put them in another post!!! Sara =)
