You talked about back-tracking and adding some carbs back in because you went on this program too fast but saying you want to reduce them slowly means you didn't go off them, so now I am confused. Guest guest
Hi Bee, Yes, you're right. I was off all grains and pulses completely before I realized that change was quicker than my body could handle. I didn't want to add grains back again, but the last two to three days they have been back in. I've been having only small amounts of rice (2oz at a time) and it made a difference in only one day. I'm thinking of staying with the same amount I'm eating for about a week before I start reducing again, but would like to figure out if I'm better off having something like lentils instead of the rice, or what grain/pulse would feed candida the least? Although slower, I can feel this will be a better path. Thank you. April > > > +++Hi April, > > I thought you had already eliminated them. Thank you. +++Hi April, But did you add all of the foods you listed in your previous message, i.e. grains, chic peas, lentils and beans the last 2-3 days, and now you've had none of them for 1 days, and are only having 2 ounces of rice? Sorry, but it still isn't clear to me. What kind of rice are you having? Hopefully it is whole grain brown rice. No, lentils or other grains or pulses are not better than whole grain brown rice. However it must be soaked for 7 hours (a longer time is okay too), with enough warm non-chlorinated water to cover, to which 1 tablespoon of lemon juice has been added for every cup of grains. -1 cup of grains add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice -1/2 cup of grains add 1/2 of a tablespoon of lemon juice -1/3rd cup of grains add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee, Sorry my email hasn't been clear enough. I've been off all grains and pulses completely for over a month. Then when I finally realized I went to quickly with the diet changes, I started to have small amounts of brown rice or brown rice pasta only last Tuesday, 4 days ago. I have had no other grains or pulses, only the brown rice and rice pasta. I asked about other grains or pulses in case there was something better for me to have than brown rice. (I used to eat a lot of chic peas and lentils before hand, but none at all since switching). Thanks for letting me know about soaking. Would the brown rice pasta need to be soaked too? Guest guest
Bee, I've also been continuing with pureed veg and meats (didn't puree the brown rice). Just use whole grain brown rice, and soak it as I instructed. All grains and legumes (pulses) must be soaked in order to make them fit to eat as explained in my main candida article. Since you are on the liquid and pureed foods diet you should also puree the rice. Bee
