What levels are important to look at? +++Hi Collette, You could need to find a laboratory that will do testing without going through your doctor, and I cannot help you with that. Usually cholesterol and thyroid tests can only be done by a doctor. Most doctors will not test your thyroid unless you have low thyroid symptoms. Also most general practitioners only test TSH levels, since testing T3 and T4 is more expensive and many doctors do not have the training to interpret them, so they have to refer you to an endocrinologist. Since you are on this program testing your cholesterol will not be accurate since most labs do not test LDL (bad cholesterol) and instead just do a mathematical calculation, since the testing equipment is very expensive. On this program most of your LDL, called bad cholesterol, will be healthy, so the particles will be large and fluffy as opposed to the " trully " bad LDL which is small dense particles. Since they calculate LDL and do not directly test it, they assume all of your LDL is bad so the test will be invalid in your case. You'd have to get a special lab to test how much of your LDL is large fluffy particles and how much is small dense particles. In addition to the fact that the medical industry has been lowering normal cholesterol tests in order to get more people, and even children, on statin drugs which lower cholesterol. In my opinion it is better to not get tested and just trust that your body is smart enough to heal itself the way Nature intended IF you treat it right!
