Guest guest
I came across this old post and I was wondering if anyone can help me. I'd like to have my cholesterol and thyroid levels tested without going through the doctor. I don't want to have to discuss the diet with her as she doesn't agree with it. I used to be on thyroid medication for hypothyroidism but went off it part way into the diet. For the thyroid do I want the T3 and T4 tested? I know that most of the cholesterol tests don't indicate the health of the heart, but I thought I should see how I am doing. What levels are important to look at? Thanks, Collette > > Hi Judith, > I had a blood test done to check for candida. It looked for candida albicans, and it came up very high. I paid to have the blood test done myself through labcorp. The website is called www.directlabs.com. Then they send you to a local lab. I had the paper in hand stating that I had this and this was affecting my health. I took it to my physcian, and she blew it off, stating that everyone has it. I explained that I knew that, but that mine was several times higher than it should be, and she still paid it no mind. She said that the diet would be too hard to adhere to, and that I would lose too much weight (and I am not underweight by any means either). She said also that she could give me diflucan, but I was already on a few prescriptions and she did not want to add another. I could not believe what I was hearing. I knew I had this condition, and so did she, and she basically said that it was too hard to do anything about it, so we > will just ignore it. That was my experience with my doctor about this. > Missy >
