Guest guest
Ha! I know right? That was when he was 3, he's now only 4.5yo lol & no it didn't teach him anything, hardly slowed him down either! Another fall he took not but a month prior (he regressed after we moved & became VERY clumsy, think we had 5 good falls in 2mo time), he lost his balance walking down the porch steps beside me (while holding the rail), as I turned to grab for him, he grabbed for me & we missed each other, he ended up falling on his forehead & got roadrash from hell. But he also got very drowsy immediately then too, so we went ahead & took him to the urgent care to be checked real fast. He's given me enough heart attacks & he's only 4! I'm dreading the rest of his life. (tell me it gets better?! LOL) But to keep this on topic lol, he hasn't scared me from sickness since we stopped vaxing! YAY! ;-) ~marcia~ > > Wow--he's lucky he didn't get a concussion. Guest guest
The naturopath mixed it up. Sometimes she had different combinations but here's one: hydrastis (goldenseal), cimifuga, elecampane, grindelia, glycyrrhiza (licorice), and lobelia. I can't remember which did what but it was for relaxing the bronchial tubes, bringing up mucus, etc. I would make sure to get someone trained to mix this and figure dosage. You don't want to play around with asthma. The albuterol never worked much for my son, either. You need to look at diet, too (no dairy). Do you have a naturopath? Guest guest
Well, the sickness part gets better and since you're not having any problems there, that's the most important. Just don't tell him about football! It's the one sport that I'm in a slight panic over. Winnie Re: strep throat Vaccinations > Ha! I know right? Guest guest
I am not sure. I always use to give LO until one Dr suggested not treating an ear infection. Since then he had has not had a single infection. I am not sure if it would be the same way with strep. Guest guest
I would give my child the antibiotics, but also supplement with Vit D, Vit C and probiotics. And of course, a good diet with lots of fruits and veggies, sunshine/outdoor time and early bedtime. Guest guest
It is reported about 2000 people a year die from penicillin. Check the diet. If she is sick 5 times in one year, you need to find the cause. Guest guest
Don't give antibiotics, give vitamin D. Dr Mercola has a spray, and recommended amounts. Check out his website and for a couple days you can give high doeses of Vit D without worrying about toxicity. Then go back down to regular dose. www.mercola.com. he also has search engine, you can type in strep throat and see dr. articles on the subject. Dr. Mercola is almost exclusively alternative medicine. > > . strep throat > Posted by: " arruka " arruka@... arruka > Date: Fri Nov 13, 2009 9:23 am ((PST)) > > My daughter was diagnosed with strep throat today, it will be about the fifth time this year. Guest guest
I agree about the supplements and diet, but not about giving more antibiotics. It sounds like there's already been 4 rounds and that could be why there's repeat infections. Antibiotics are not necessary for strep. Here's some articles: http://www.healthychild.com/pharmaceutical-drugs/antibiotics-for-strep/ http://www.healthychild.com/pharmaceutical-drugs/consequences-of-excessive-antib\ iotic-use/ Jane Sheppard Healthy Child http://www.healthychild.com > > I would give my child the antibiotics, but also supplement with Vit D, Vit C and probiotics. Guest guest
I’ve only had strep throat once. The strep bacteria lives in the throat naturally, so after reading a bit in dr. mendolsohn’s book “how to have a healthy child in spite of your doctor’, I’d skip the abx. But first, I’d read more about it and just hang onto the rx just in case I decided to go ahead and give the abx. Guest guest
I would mix up a solution and use a spray bottle and spray the back of the throat. You can get those mini sprayers in the travel section of Target, Wal-mart, etc. Steph Strep Throat My son struggles with this. Guest guest
An herbalist recently told me to make a tea of sage and thyme (organic preferably) - also works really well for strep. I haven't yet tried it, but I will next time (my son has had strep several times - no more antibiotics for us!). My son has a gag reflex also - sorry I can't help on that one. Guest guest
One other thing I'll add is that we are starting my son on a homotoxicology program (and also seeing a phenomenal allergist). If your son keeps getting it (as mine does) you may want to consider that. Homotoxicology in nutshell is basically a homeopathic approach to detoxing the body all the way down to the cellular level. You can email me offline if you'd like more info. From: amandashepheard <amandashepheard@...>iodine Sent: Fri, October 15, 2010 4:32:45 PMSubject: Strep Throat My son struggles with this. Guest guest
Strep is classic a lyme disease symptom. I have lyme and have great results with iodine. I also did frequency/laser work but I am doing better than others who have had the same treatments as me. People with lyme have toxic livers and don't convert T4 to T3 so thyroid assistance is good. It is amazing what comes up when you google lyme and ____. It opened a whole new world of information up to me. Like, google encephalitis and lyme as well as spinal meningitis, lyme to see what comes up. They are also classic. The spirochettes hide themselves in the spinal cord. There is a wonderful letter about lyme by Dr. Harvey Bigelsen, in the October issue of the Townsend Letter. http://www.klinghardtacademy.com/images/stories/Lyme_Disease/klinghardt_biologic\ al_treatment_of_lyme_disease_protocol.pdf Regards, Joan > > > > My son struggles with this. Guest guest
Hi, I have been on this program, ( ok with some cheating) for a year and half. My son came home from school with strep throat last week and my two year old and four old got it as well. I ended up with it and my throat was BAD. I was in pain. I went to doc and started a Z pack, (keep in mind, have not had an antibiotic for six years). I have had 3 doses. My throat is better. I don't want to take anymore of it. Do you think I should just finish the other 2 doses up or throw it in the trash and get back on program?? sherry
Guest guest
It isn't so much about the so-called bacteria but the overall health of the host vitamin D3, Vitamin C, organic food, pure water................. Just because something is supposedly 'going around' doesn't mean your children will get sick. Its about the terrain, not the germ. Homeopathic treatment will help if sore throat results. Sheri At 06:11 PM 2/4/2011, you wrote: I'm sure this topic has circulated already, so I'm sorry if it's repetitious. Strep is going around our neighborhood schools, including the one my kids go to. Guest guest
I always assume these things are around all the time. So, knowing that there definitely is something other kids are getting doesn't change what I do--which is far from perfect, I might add! There's nothing specific for strep over any other illnesses. Just do the usual of trying to avoid sugar, junk foods, etc., try not to let the kids get too tired out with activities, and be ready with some natural meds/vitamins at the first sign of anything. You should just get back on the program, and do salt water gargles for your throat. Bee
