Guest guest
Hello. My name is . I am a 20 year old male who is currently struggling with mental and perhaps physical problems. <snip> I am currently contemplating going on a form of candida diet. The one thing that is really stopping me though, is that form what I've read, the consensus is that you cannot really eat fruit. I'm having a hard time with this. I mean, I love fruit. I always thought of it as the perfect food, one that is both healthy and tasty. It seems to satisfy me more consistently than any other food. I have been eating " healthy for about a year or two now. I started by eliminating the junk and processed foods, then cut out meats, dairy, and eventually all animal products, and other things my intuition told me to avoid (soy). All of that was easy for me to do. I actually enjoyed doing it all. But this, giving up fruit, for a while even, is something else. Should I try to look at this like chemotherapy (I know chemo is way way worse), as in, the diet will suck for a while but may be better in the long run? One thing I'm not sure how to deal with though: For myself, eating fruit often has certain relaxing effects. An example: I tried not to eat sweet/semi-sweet fruit all day. By the time night came around, I was feeling rather irritable, and I felt uncomfortable sensations in my body. Usually, when I felt this way, maybe I would eat some fruit. I tried desperately to stave-off my fruit cravings, but, eventually, I gave in and ate a navel orange. Once I ate the orange, I felt better, or at least more comfortable, although as soon as I ate it, I sensed a small amount of mucus in my nasal passages. The above scenario is pretty much representative of my relationship with fruit. I wonder if this itself could be a sign of a candida problem, like I am feeding the bacteria/whatever. Sorry for going off on possible tangents, but, basically, I'm having a hard time dealing with the fruit restrictions. Any advice?
