Guest guest
Have to agree with and everybody on the importance of (unrefined) salt in the iodine protocol. Started bumping up my daily salt intake recently (to 1 tsp/day) and I'm really happy with the results. Dr. Abraham had recommended as much as 6-10 g/day of salt (~1-2 tsp) - but I wouldn't necessarily go that high. There are many studies online that show that salt alone will lower bromide levels in the blood and cut bromide renal excretion time to a 1/3 in the kidneys. There is a doctor using salt alone to treat bromide toxicity in returning Gulf War soldiers. He was recommending 5-30 days of high salt intake for his worst cases. I'm wondering if a salt protocol isn't almost just as important as the iodine protocol for bromide toxicity. Salt supplementation can stand on its own merits IMO. The salt protocol should probably be stressed more in this group, especially to new members. And of course unrefined salt vs. processed is the better way to go. -Roman > > > >Salt is just used to ease detox effects.if you don't have detox effects > >you don't need the salt only to salt your food with. > > > > from Illinois > > > > > > > >From: Cochrane <juliemc9@...> > >iodine > >Sent: Thu, November 18, 2010 3:31:10 PM > >Subject: Celtic Sea Salt > > > > > > > >I'm about to run out of celtic sea salt. Guest guest
I know this is going to get booted to the OT list but I can't help but add that Dr. Jarvis says to add raw apple cider vinegar to your diet, at dinner especially and when you eat meat to stave off arthritis. I had calcium build up on my teeth from drinking OJ and I was able to water pik it off after three days of drinking ACV/honey tonic. I'm taking my Lugol's in it also and I'm finding that my body craves it. My body craved it in the beginning when I wasn't adding Lugol's, then it stopped craving, now that I added the Lugol's I keep wanting to hit the bottle. Dr. Jarvis says to take the three together. He also says follow your cravings and body's intuition. He is the king in my book. Guest guest
For those on the US west coast, you can get Celtic salt in bulk from Azure Standard, a traveling health food store. They carry many supps also. They are a regular store but out of a truck. They will ship anywhere in the states but I think the order has to be at least $500. www.azurestandard.com Joan > > Hi, > I'm wanting to order the Celtic sea salt. Guest guest
Cassandra, Celtic Sea Salt is both nutritious and delicious, I think you'l enjoy it. It has an off-white color, pale grey-like, and is on the damp side.. I think there's only one kind which comes in either coarse or granulated form, the coarse form being less expensive, all of which you probably know by now. I get my Celtic Sea Salt at the local food co-op, the coarse form in bulk. For comparison it costs me $4.40/lb., a very good price. I think they get it directly from www.celticseaasalt.com i use a mortar and pestle to grind it finer as needed. good stuff. enjoy. Greg > Hi, > I'm wanting to order the Celtic sea salt. Guest guest
Dr. Jarvis was way ahead of his time, wonderful, open-minded doctor, I have had his book since it came out ( long time ago =-).....I go back to it from time to time. He writes about the value of iodine, so I don't think this is off topic! Guest guest
Thanks for all the replies about iodine and salt.   I'm going to follow your suggestion, .   I " ve lowered my iodine to 25mgs, will go back to 50 mgs when I get more salt, and then slowly increase from there again.   Because I " m in Australia and in a remote area, my only mail options would be so slow that I might as well save on postage and wait until I'm in a town on Wednesday. Thanks again,
Guest guest
Hi Bee, I was wondering if any gray (moist) sea salt has the same benefits as Celtic sea salt? (like Sel Gris from France?) Thanks

Guest guest
If you do a search of the forum (you can use the advanced option) you will come up with many different answers depending on your condition. I typed in: celtic, how much salt, teaspoon, and some others and found this link from JOT (jitterjotter) which may prove helpful: thyroid treatment/message/83043 Love Jacquie > > > > > > can anyone tell me a reputable company that sells celtic sea salt on the internet. > > > thanks > > > > > >

Guest guest
They are both unrefined/unprocessed salts and either one will do for now. I personally like the Celtic Sea Salt brand the best because it is wet, it tastes better and it has been tested for heavy metals, etc. (negative) Celtic Sea Salt is a brand name.....but Himalayan pink salt will work well too. What ever you can get your hands on :0) Cheers, JOT > Start with 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon in a glass of water first thing when you wake up.
