Guest guest
Hi again , I took the Nutiva jar and another jar of coconut oil in a mason jar in my luggage...and the cod liver oil bottles. No problems that I'm aware of:) Marti From: xandbar@... Date: Wed, 9 Feb 2011 18:23:06 +0000 Subject: [ ] Re: Traveling with coconut oil? Thanks Marti! One more question -- did you take the original jar or put it in a different container? I am using Nutiva and I would like to just take the 15 oz container (not yet opened). I was going to stop taking VCO during my trip, but I tried stopping it yesterday and I felt terrible! > > > Hi -- > > I traveled in January with the coconut oil and supplements in my checked luggage, and it was no problem. I don't know about the x-ray equipment they use to check bags...anyone know if that is irradiating the food? > > Thanks! > Marti > > > > > From: xandbar@... > Date: Wed, 9 Feb 2011 17:37:22 +0000 > Subject: [ ] Traveling with coconut oil? > > > > > > > Does anyone know if you can put coconut oil in checked baggage on an airplane? Guest guest
Thanks, Bee! This is good to know, although those scanners make me want to just stay home:) Eventually I'll have to fly and I will wrap the oil and supplements up like you suggest. Thanks again! Marti +++Hi Marti, X-rays emit radiation so I don't see how they would NOT damage foods. This is how I protect my supplements, but I don't know if I am right or not. I put all supplements, including coconut oil and cod liver oil in my " checked-in baggage, " and I wrap them in aluminum foil, and also put them in a small bag lined with aluminum foil. I put other supplements in a divided container, with enough for my trip, and wrap it separately too. Bee
