epsom salts didn't work fast enough

I tried a cleanse on Sunday. I took the epsom salts at 2 and 6 and

by 8pm I gave up that any bowel action was gonna happen. I only ate

breakfast of a bowl of oatmeal, so did I fast too much? Once I broke

the fast, giving up on the cleanse, my bowels then moved. This is

not my first cleanse, more like 4th? and the epsom salts have never

taken that long. Any input? Thanks, Kate
