Hi Bee,

Since bacteria does not make us sick, is it ok to eat expired meat?

I bought some ground beef from the butcher and it said to eat within 2 days.

This morning I took it out and it had turned a greyish colour on the outside and

didn't smell very good (this is about day 4 since i bought it). It didn't smell

HORRIBLE, but clearly it was old.

I don't want to waste it, so I've thrown it in a crock pot...but I wont put any

veggies in until I know it's ok to eat.

Thanks a lot,

Natalia

+++Hi Natalia,

Only you can decide since I'm not there to smell it. If you are unsure, throw

it out. In future freeze the meat and only thaw it out when you are going to

use it that same day.
