Guest guest
, There are a few schools for CI children. Sound blasters are placed on one wall of each room, & they help to tone down the acoustic problems that come with such rooms.
Guest guest
, I just received my first implant in December 2007. I was at my CI support group last month and picked up this tip that might help you. My telecoil setting is 75/25 they told me to try that when I was in real noisy enviroments like a shopping mall. I have tried it in noisey restaurants and it does help. Also one of my SMartSounds 2 programs is ASC/Adro/Beam that works pretty good too. I hope some of these suggestions help you. -------------- Original message -------------- From: Ci92000@... Sorry if you all get this twice! I had the surgery July 18th and my tongue still has some taste disturbance on the surgery side. For those who had this, how long did it take to go away? I feel as if I am progressing faster with the new implant than I did the first time. (Too bad I can't get more frequent mappings). Has this been a similar experience for other bilaterals implanted sequentially? If so, please explain how with as much detail as possible. Classrooms in older school buildings are horrible places for me acoustically. The sound is too echoey and resonant. What do others do to hear better in this type of environment? Thanks!!! **************It's only a deal if it's where you want to go. Find your travel deal here. Guest guest
You might research a raw vegan diet? Or this is what I did. I ate raw fruit in the morning, as much as I wanted. Raw veggies for lunch, as much as I wanted, including avocados for fat. Then added a raw green juice in the afternoon and had a regular dinner. After a while, I wanted all raw vegan. I dropped unwanted weight easily. Because bathing my body in all that green nutrition did away with cravings for sweets, starches, processed food, etc.Just a thought. Guest guest
How nice if it were that simple! :-) Laurie, have you have your thyroid levels checked? Hypothyroidism can cause depression as well as weight gain. Many people here have to take thyroid in addition to taking iodine. Iodine alone isn't necessarily enough if you have hypothyroidism. You need to test, at least,: TSH FREE t4 FREE t3 thyroid antibiodes ferritin It would be good to get a cortisol profile done as well (saliva test) but if you can't, at least try to get an AM cortisol test. Guest guest
You will feel good and drop weigh with that sort of diet but eventually it will cause harm. I'm reading " The Vegetarian Myth " which is a real eye opener. On Sep 20, 2009, at 9:37 AM, Cece wrote: > You might research a raw vegan diet? Or this is what I did. Guest guest
Not all spices have MSG, but beware that the word " organic " means nothing. You need to read the label to find out if MSG is contained within the product. Unfortunately, MSG has many aliases, one of which is " hydrolyzed protein " . For spices, there should be no other ingredients anyway besides the spice itself. Aspartame not only causes weight gain, but it is a neurotoxin. When broken down in the body, it produces methyl alcohol and formaldehyde. People have died from ingesting methyl alcohol (instead of the edible ethyl alcohol). I know a friend of my niece that died from aspartame - it destroyed her brain before she made it to her 20th birthday. It almost destroyed my niece as well. from Israel > > > Simply put, weight gain is a result of eating nutrient-deficient food. > > Known to put on the " lard " is aspartame, MSG, and processed vegetable > > oils, and virtually all processed food. Guest guest
what about thyroid ,adrenal ,b12and ferritine In response to your questions above, thyroid is normal range, adrenals are reversed (high night time coritsol low in day time, but I'm working on those to bring those into normal range), b12 and ferritine are normal. laurie
Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Do you have the actual ranges for thyroid, b12 and ferritin. So many are told they are " normal " , but normal is not optimal and many people are sick in the so-called normal ranges. For example, the range for ferritin is something like 10 - 291, but believe me, if you're at 10, you need to increase your iron! I suspect many on this site taking thyroid meds had " normal " ranges, too. Hope this helps, Kathleen > In response to your questions above, thyroid is normal range, adrenals are reversed (high night time coritsol low in day time, but I'm working on those to bring those into normal range), b12 and ferritine are normal. > > laurie >
Guest guest
this is a typical burnout pattern for adrenals. I think they will need serious support. Guest guest
Yes, I have had all of my thyroid levels tested and all were within normal range. Actually, my TSH level would be considered in the hyperthyroid range, but I am not having any hyper symptoms and I think it's from the iodine. My cortisol levels have been tested and I am taking supplements to bring my levels within normal range. As I stated in my original post, how do you tell the difference between bromide detox symptoms and whether or not what I'm experiencing is from something else? Guest guest
Yes, you can liberally salt your food, put it in broth, juice, sodium free tomato juice, etc.... I have my almost 12 year old daughter on 50mgs iodoral and it's stirring up bromides, but she won't or can't drink the salt water, even in juice. I give her two capsules that I've put salt in. The key is getting the salt SOMEHOW in your body with ENOUGH liquids that will carry the halides out through your kidneys. Taking the salt away from the iodoral (30 mins-1hr) allows the iodine time to kick up the halides. This morning, we were running late, but my daughter remembered to take her iodine. I gave her a couple of salt capsules, hoping that the delay in braking down the capsule would be enough time and prevent the headache and heavy feeling in the chest that she usually gets. I'll find out this afternoon how it went. Guest guest
I know depression can come from different sources, although it does seem to be a key one in bromide detox.
