Hello -

I'm new to the site and have been reading through the messages and

have a couple questions - a little background; I was non-symptomatic

before having a weight loss surgery (a " band " not rny - so no

rerouting any organs, just tying a band on my stoma) but they found a

big stone. After losing weight really fast, I had my first attack

(thanks to ice cream) and was in ER where they diagnosed and

recommended surgery for " tons of stones " . That's been over a year ago

now and I have intermittent attacks, nothing major unless I eat a

spoon of ice cream for some reason - but I am having more and more

pain periodically after eating. Funny thing is, pain was always on my

left side, but I know its the gallbladder because that's where it was

when i had the severe attack as well. I really want to avoid surgery

because I worry about where that bile will go without my gallbladder,

I believe it's there for a reason! So:

1) anyone else feel pain on the left side instead of right abdomen?

2) Has anyone used any of these treatments and actually been back to

the doc for ultrasound and told the gallstones were physically gone?

3) which treatment has been around the longest and has the best

success rates?

4) I was reading about olive oil and lemon juice but worry that this

will cause an attack because of the fats

5) any reasons not to try one of these treatments?

Thanks so much for your help and advice!

Karin
