Guest guest
You are right where you should be. NO the pouch is NOT too big. You are NOT hungry, this is your head playing tricks on you. We have talked a lot about "head games" and you are experiencing one when you THINK you are hungry. You are so used to eating large amounts of food, so your OLD thinking brain is saying--hey lady I am used to eating more than you are giving me so feed me because I am hungry. There is a restriction and your brain is just ignoring it. So on that note just remember with your new stomach and because of the surgery it is swollen and your can hold no more than the size of your thumb. It is all in the head, and you are positive that it is hunger. Hang in there, this first month is the hardest month you will do. It is a entire relearning process and you have to learn to think things out with a new brain NOT the old brain that lead you to all your lifetime of bad eating habits. Guest guest
I always drank more liquids than everyone else on this board posted. I just made sure I drank small amounts and slowly but consumed more than others. It was especially true with chicken broth. I think we are all different and that is why this board is here for us to all post our experiences. I started out at 325 and now I am somewhere between 229-231. My surgery was March 19th and I am now 6 months post op. Good luck to you! You will figure out your limitations and whenever you have a quiestion or want to share something we will all be here for you on this board.Sent via BlackBerry from T-MobileFrom: "tonjuark" <tonjuark@...>Sender: Date: Sat, 25 Sep 2010 18:57:49 -0000< >Reply Subject: a little concerned I am 10 days post op. I can consume I feel more the 3ozs liquid comfortably at a time. I try not to go over that, but I have noticed that I have come close and have no restriction feeling or discomfort. Do you think my pouch is to big???? I still feel hungry, but I am dealing ok with that.
Guest guest
I never really did have restriction with liquids - but I have a TON of restriction with mushies and solids. Dr Aceves told me that my ability to drink pretty much as usual from early on after my surgery was just that I was healing well. I am 7 1/2 months out and can still only eat at one time (Not ALL of these at once! I mean ONE of these at a sitting):1/2 slice of pizza on low carb thin crust2 ounces (average) of lean protein + a bite or two of veg 1/3 cup cottage cheese1 cheese stick wrapped in thin slice of turkey, ham or beef2 barbecue pork ribs1 egg with 1/2 slice whole grain toast1/3 cup of turkey, chicken or tuna salad1 Ryevita cracker with peanut butter Margo On Sat, Sep 25, 2010 at 11:57 AM, tonjuark <tonjuark@...> wrote: I am 10 days post op. Guest guest
Hi Bee, Just wanted to touch base... Today I had a bloody nose for about 15 min. but it did stop... I also look ghostly pale... I am also having bone pain- I sleep on my side and my hip was on fire last night, also I woke up with lower back pain. I have lost a lot of weight.. I don't weigh myself but my clothes are getting really loose.... I guess I am a bit nervous because some of these symptoms remind me of when I had Leukemia...I am 37 and was diagnosed with that when I was 22 so it has been 15 yrs. I know in terms of retracing it wouldn't be happening that fast but ?? I know I am just touching on the brim of the retracing... I am definitely one that has been sick since conception and my leukemia definitely came about because of candida... I am eating my ratios but very low end of the fat ratios.. I bumped the coconut oil down to 2 1/2 tablespoons a day because the exhaustion was becoming so extreme I was worried about getting through the work day. I have about 3 tablespoons of olive oil a day and 1 tablespoon of Ghee a day. The Ghee gives me a bad reactions (stomach bloating, itching) so I haven't been using more than that. I will try to add a bit more of Ghee this week. I eat about three-four large eggs a day and about one chicken breast a day. I have red meat at least once a week and veggies are mostly cauliflower, broccoli, tomato, green onion, asparagus, brussel sprouts. I am on board with all supplements. could I not be getting enough iron? One other note is after the cancer I was on antidepressants on and off for about 12 years but have not been on them for about 3 years now. I also have about 1/2 cup of coffee a day that I know I need to cease just wanted to be honest about what I was eating/drinking. Thank you Abbie
Guest guest
> > Hi Bee, > Just wanted to touch base... > > Today I had a bloody nose for about 15 min. but it did stop... > I also look ghostly pale... +++Hi Abbie. Have you ever had a bloody nose in the past or had your nose treated, or been injured in it? > I am also having bone pain- I sleep on my side and my hip was on fire last night, also I woke up with lower back pain. I have lost a lot of weight.. I don't weigh myself but my clothes are getting really loose.... +++Any area on fire like that means your body has created more heat in the area (fever) in order to heal the area better, along with sending more blood to it to help it heal and detoxify. Have you ever injured that area or had x-rays of it for any reason? +++Weight is the least of your issues when you are sick. Right now your body needs all of its resources and energy to heal and detoxify itself, so it isn't able to work on building muscles or fat. Weighing less doesn't mean you are worse off or will get worse if you are totally on this program, since you " know " your body is now getting all of the nutrients it needs. As you become more healthy your weight will normalize. > > I guess I am a bit nervous because some of these symptoms remind me of when I had Leukemia...I am 37 and was diagnosed with that when I was 22 so it has been 15 yrs. I know in terms of retracing it wouldn't be happening that fast but ?? +++I understand how scary that can be. To feel more secure read this article, and pay particular attention to the section on Healing Reactions Versus Disease Reactions: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal10.php +++Did you have chemotherapy or radiation treatment for your leukemia? > > I know I am just touching on the brim of the retracing... Eggs and red meats contain " true " B12, and red meats are high in iron. +++Remember, your body is smart enough to balance out all of its nutrient, hormone, and even water levels if you give it what it needs to do its job. > One other note is after the cancer I was on antidepressants on and off for about 12 years but have not been on them for about 3 years now. +++Your body and mind will be retracing those antidepressants, so that may be part of what you are now experiencing. > > I also have about 1/2 cup of coffee a day that I know I need to cease just wanted to be honest about what I was eating/drinking. +++Only 1/2 cup is not going to interfere very much, since it is mainly the nutrients in the diet and supplements that do the healing. All the best, Bee
