Guest guest
I was one of the people who didn't do well on lower doses of Iodoral. I am thriving on the higher doses. I think when you really need it and the dose is too low, it confuses the body or something. I know I feel better on than off but at higher levels. Guest guest
I am quite familiar with SpectraCell testing though am not as familiar with the OATS test. When I look at the sample OATS test from Genova Diagnostics or Great Plains Laboratory I see that these two tests offer different things, though important each in their own regard. It appears to me that they really cannot be " compared " except for the question of what it is a person is trying to determine in the first place. > > > > > > You have not gotten an answer because there isn't one. Accepted levels of supplementing are anywhere from 6.25 mgs - 50 mgs. Maintenance doses were considered to be 25 mgs for adults but as we learn more it is looking like 50 mgs may be the new needed dose to combat the halides we are bombarded with from all sides. > > > > > > For your child with Autism you can start him slowly at 6.25 mgs or lower and move him up to 12.5 mgs and see how it goes. My daughter is 8 and has been on 12.5 mgs since she was 6 yrs old. Autistic children seem to be very toxic. Have you considered getting an OATS test? You can get them to tell you where in their KREBS cycle they are needing nutrients. My son needed B Vitamins & Co-Q10 plus 5 HTP. I would have never guessed that he needed this but it told me this. He is not autistic but suffers from brain fog. He was also toxic in many environmental toxins which we tested for as well. It was part of the OATS test that we could add on. You can google Organic Acid Test or OATS to find out more info. Where we got it done is not available anymore. You will need to make sure that you are supporting him with selenium (100 mcg at least 3x / week), magnesium - I do 100 mgs a few times a week, Vit C in dosages of 2,000 - 3,000 to help with any detoxing. As for the salt. I put it in dipping cups and let my children eat it out of the cups and put it on their food. They craved it in the beginning and would eat tons of it. I let them. > > > > > > Yes you should be using salt as a supplement. Guest guest
I am not on meds but I do have a multi-nodular goiter. I am currently taking 100 mg of Iodoral and so happy I upped from 50mg. No detox. Lots of Celtic (and am doing a series of infra-red saunas to help tired, old adrenals) Barb > > I am not on thyroid meds and I take 150 mg Iodoral, 5 days a week. > > Tressler > > > Help raise funds for Legacy Land Conservancy by searching the internet or shopping online with GoodSearch (www.goodsearch.com). >

Guest guest
The mottling of teeth is called fluorosis. Not only we inundated with fluoride in the water, doctors have been prescribing fluoride drops for babies and kids for the last 25 years. Not only their thyroids and teeth, it affects their bones also. It's not so far fetched to think the dog is hypo too. The majority of the protein in dog food is made from gluten for the last couple of decades. Interestingly enough, I read once that Irish Setters are the only known canine to develop Celiac disease and the switch to gluten has basically rendered that breed obsolete. Couple that with the soybean oil that's in all the food for people and dogs and it's very bad news for health in general. Not Steph, but I do feel the hair analysis is worthwhile. Spectracell is good, but I wouldn't pay out of my own pocket for it, if your insurance covers it, go for it.LinnOn Feb 24, 2011, at 9:51 PM, dutchdivco wrote: "i just keep wondering why all these kids with thyroid and adrenal issues...something not right..." Guest guest
Thanks Linn, I'll remember it now.Cross Floride with Halitosis= Fluorosis.(Pneumonic)Yeah, I'm am starting to worry about Lulu.Lays on the bed a lot, where its warmest. Not as much energy, although she does do some running at the dog park.Digestion not as regular as previously. She's an Australian Cattle Dog, so not obsolete yet.Better start putting some iodine in her water, and maybe start looking harder at her food. Any idea how many drops of lugols, for a 60Lb dog, anyone? And have to start giving her R.O. water, too, I guess.Jim > > > > > > > > > > > > You have not gotten an answer because there isn't one. Guest guest
I give our 19 lb Westie two drops of 2 % Lugols a day in his water. It seems to be working okay, don't know if there is a formula for dogs adjusting for their weight though. I am just guessing at it. Guest guest
When my wife visits China she brings back several tubes of toothpaste. The toothpaste she buys there has no fluoride in it. (Toothpaste with fluoride is available in China though.) So at least thats one less source of halides for us. That said, sitting at my computer probably is 10 times worse than exposure to fluoride though. It would be interesting to have an idea of what the sources of halides in our lives are and which ones create the most toxins in our bodies. Good health, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > You have not gotten an answer because there isn't one. Accepted levels of supplementing are anywhere from 6.25 mgs - 50 mgs. Guest guest
, toothpaste without fluoride is readily available here in the USA too at all heath food stores and online from iherb and other natural vitamin shops. I myself would be leery of toothpaste from China, it might not have fluoride but after the contaminated paint on childrens toys and contaminated toxic dog food etc; China wouldn’t be my choice of where to get my toothpaste from . I am an avid label reader these days =-) But yes, we are bombarded with toxic halides from all directions. Guest guest
I make my own tooth soap. I use Dr Bronners Castile soap (peppermint) and put 3/4 soap with 1/4 filtered water in a glass jar with a dropper. I just put it on my toothbrush and brush with it. Works great and not toxins! http://www.drbronner.com/ Steph salt> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am so sorry to ask this again and again, but I don't feel that I've gotten an answer. Guest guest
I have Dr Bronner's baby mild liquid soap. I really must try that. Neat idea ! Thank you Steph ! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > You have not gotten an answer because there isn't one. Accepted levels of supplementing are anywhere from 6.25 mgs - 50 mgs. Guest guest
I am very much interested in this way of cleaning teeth, but don't you feel like you washed your mouth out with soap (disgusting taste)? I did check out the toothsoap website and there appeared to be no soap at all in their product, but very expensive. I wonder how long it lasts. H. Guest guest
I get mine at the health food store. For a while I just used baking soda until I got it. It works to get clean, but not such a great aftertaste. Guest guest
The stuff on that web-site is TERRIBLY over-priced, & once you get on their mailing list, you get emails from the owner that... Well, not a fan.If you get essential oil in it, that reduces the soap taste. And if you use a good brand of soap, it makes a HUGE difference. I have a friend who had a small soap business for a few years, & her soap was AWESOME. She was pretty much forced out of business by the complexities of business taxes, the expense of business insurance, etc. Bronner's bar soap is the best I have found so far to replace hers.AnneOn Feb 26, 2011, at 8:19 PM, wrote: I am very much interested in this way of cleaning teeth, but don't you feel like you washed your mouth out with soap (disgusting taste)? Guest guest
That's funny Anne. The owner drives me nuts too and one of the reasons why I was all too happy to find another solution. I don't get her e-mails anymore since I stopped buying. She changed the formula a while back. It used to be just like Bronners but I think they were trying to "go green" and something they were using - palm oil maybe? - was the problem.
