Guest guest
, Tetracycline is one of the worst offenders in terms of destroying your intestinal flora. It's an old broadspectrum antibiotic and if it's out of date tetracycline, it can cause other problems. See a doctor and have the necessary tests done for common parasites just to satisify yourself. Get ahold of Dr. Crooks book ''THE YEAST CONNECTION'' it's a good simple read and you will learn a lot more than I can tell you here about a lot of things , not just yeast. Also, the bloating and constipation is sometimes referred to as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and there are all kinds of over the counter ''junk drugs'' that will do little more than pallitate your symptoms and probably in the long run cause you even more problems. Most people don't know why they have IBS but many will tell you that it all started after a course of antibiotics. There is another disease that causes similar symptoms which in many peoples minds is not a disease but relates back to antibiotic therapy . Anyway, this disease is called Celliac Sprue. The bad part is that there is no treatment or cure. The good part is that there is a simple solution. You have to stop eating all products that contain ''GLUTEN''. You have to go on a gluten free diet, forever. That means no grains or any product that contains gluten. I think you can still eat rice but no wheat , rye, oats or barley. Anyway you can get tested for this or you can just go on a gluten free diet. The symptoms of Celliac Sprue are bloating, constipation, gas and diareaha. You can follow all of this up on the internet . Also, one more thing, one of the problems with Kefir, Yoghurt and the like in addition to what I already mentioned is that they are all full of ''sugar''. If you do have a problem with yeast, the last thing you want to eat is sugar. Good luck, bob > Thanks for your thoughtful answer Bob. > I haven't taken antibiotics since I was probably 14 > years old or cold medicines or tylenol or Advil or any > of that stuff. > 2 years ago I took an over the counter pain > medication. > I've always been anti-any of that stuff. > I believe if you get enough sleep, exercise and eat > the right foods then that shouldn't be a problem. > but I did make a huge mistake and I'll explain... > > My background is a little different. > I was born in Haiti and lived there until I was 12 > years old.
