I found an excellent bar soap at the health store this week, and found it is also available on iHerb so I added it this morning - see Kiss My Face Bar Soap on this page: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/resource/iherb.php A friend of mine said she used an olive oil bar soap that worked great for cleaning teeth, but she didn't know the brand. I found it at the health store and used it to brush my teeth and my friend was right. It is just as good as baking soda. This is the most natural bar soap I've seen, and it has no fragrance or essential oil, which wouldn't be good to use on your teeth. I tried to saw off a piece using a serrated knife, but it was difficult. I put a piece of it in a little dish in my bathroom so I just wet my toothbrush and rub it across the bar. If you haven't ordered from iHerb before it helps me if you give them my Rewards Number, and you'll also get $5.00 off your first order. Also, before February 28th I get more commission even if you've ordered from them before, when you give them my Rewards Number. All the best, Bee

Glycerin in natural soap removes just enough oils to cleanse, but does not completely strip away all the oils present on the skin or in the hair. It cleanses in a naturally balanced way. However, Glycerin in synthetic soaps do not contain this natural glycerin (and other nutrients) like a natural soap does. Thus, synthetic glycerin, manufactured in the lab is what is used. Unfortunately, Glycerin in synthetic soaps, on the other hand, also acts as an irritant by stripping away too much oil and in effect being too strong of a cleanser. It is not a naturally balanced cleanser. Therefore, if the soap(glycerin) is naturally occurring or w/Retained Glycerin as is in the Castile Soap, it should be fine to use. The subject of glycerin has been researched & discussed on the group in the past. Nonetheless, the Kirk's castile soap is fine to use. Since it is a natural soap made from whole oils/fat i.e coconut oil, which has natural occurring glycerin. Kirk's castile soap - history & ingredients http://tinyurl.com/6bsyly4 Natural occurring glycerin attracts moisture and retains moisture in the skin, unlike synthetic which does the opposite. Guest guest
Thank you both for your response. Bee, I'm currently using the Fiji coconut oil bar soap from your recommended product list and it's a good soap, next time I will try the Kiss My Face Bar Soap. I created my iherb account before being part of this group and I tried to recreate an account to enter your reward number but unfortunately it didn't worked. Ed, I made researches about retained glycerin after I read Bee's response and I agree with you, I will try this soap as a body wash and if it's too harsh I will use it as a hand wash. Once again thank you both, All the best, Adri.
