Guest guest
> > Bee, I've been on the program for 4 years with about once-a-week cheating, so I'm not perfect. When I started going into menopause about a year and a half ago, I increased my bioflavanoids to help with hot flashes. After the hot flashes subsided in about 3 months, I continued to take higher doses of bioflavs to try to balance my hormones to reduce large fibroids. Daily, I take 2 capsules of Natural Factors Citrus Bioflavanoids (650mg bioflavs) plus 3 Natural Factors Vitamin C Complex (500mg C + 625mg bioflav). Is this too much? What harm might this cause? I've been having lower back and hand pain and I wonder if it may be from too many bioflavs or if it's just healing or retracing. I take everything else in the amounts you suggest. > > I haven't been to a gynecologist for some time. After 4 years, I can feel fewer fibroids on my left side and a larger, harder mass on my right side. My internist wants me to get an ultrasound, mammogram and colonoscopy. I'm not worried about the last two, but the uterine hardness and mass are a little worrisome. Should I go ahead with the ultrasound or not bother and trust that the fibroids will disappear in time as long as I'm following the program? The internist also said I have a polyp at the opening of the cervix that a gynecologist could remove (I had one removed in the same spot about 6 years ago). Everything else has gotten better, though I still have some thrush, dandruff and the back pain. Not bad for being very sick when I started! I haven't had a cold or bladder infection in well over a year! Plus, I sleep like a rock now. Thank you! > +++Hi C. Congratulations on your wonderful improvements! Please do not misunderstand what I wrote about ascorbic acid and bioflavonoids. My point is that bioflavonoids, etc. aren't needed for ascorbic acid to be utilized and absorbed, but they aren't harmful either, and they do have other health benefits. However, you can overdo taking anything other than the supplements I recommend too, since taking more of some kinds of nutrients can throw off the balance of other. In other words, more is not better! Therefore supplements like bioflavonoids should only be used for short-periods of time to assist your body, but never long-term. I haven't studied bioflavonoids in detail to understand how they work in the body, however we know they aren't necessary in order to get healthy! I think you should stop taking the bioflavonoids and just let the program do its job. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Bee, thanks, I'll ease off the bioflavanoids. How about the ultrasound? A waste of time? I don't have pain or other symptoms... > > > > > > I haven't been to a gynecologist for some time. The questions to ask yourself are: If it confirms what I already know will it help me in any way? Will I do treatments they recommend? Guest guest
Thanks, Bee, I agree. The fibroids seem to be going down, so I'll just keep going without " doctor supervision, " or more like doctor pressure. Funny story about my blood test. Everything was perfect except my cholesterol which was 515. The doctor was shocked, but said that my triglycerides were puzzlingly low, only 52. She said the HDL and LDL couldn't even be measured because the overall count was so high. I researched the subject and found that low triglycerides are an indicator all by itself of a low risk of heart disease. My level is as low as age group 10-29 and I'm 56! I told my doctor I'd follow her advice to cut down on fats, but you know I won't!!! Why tinker with success? > > > > > > > > Bee, thanks, I'll ease off the bioflavanoids. How about the ultrasound? Why tinker with success? +++Hi , You are very wise to not tinker with success. When your triglycerides are low most of your LDL (supposedly bad cholesterol) will be the fluffy good kind and not the bad dense kind, but most labs cannot measure them since they don't have the equipment. Most labs only do a calculation in order to determine LDL. I thought they could count HDL, but evidently they can't, so that must also be calculated and not measured. When your body is detoxifying your body increases production of cholesterol because it is needed to help the body detoxify itself. Also whenever there is inflammation, which the body itself creates, the body increases cholesterol production. Isn't it crazy " they claim " heart disease is caused by high cholesterol when the body itself creates it in order to " try to " restore and maintain its health?
