When you look at your protein totals, subtract those from plant foods (carbs), including vegetables. All the best, Bee

Guest guest
I think there is some indication that brewer's or baker's yeast, which is sold as a live product, is better than nutritional yeast, which is mainly cooked. This especially in people with a bowel dysbiosis condition, which some doctors propose to be entirely common; my own doctor offered affects about 80% of the adult population. Seems nutritional yeast results in some more symptoms because the broken down polysaccharides from the cell wall can be more readily used by pathogens and candida. Candida does not eat yeast because it is almost the same cell wall structure, but it can eat the broken bits. Whole yeast is often used in anti-candida probiotics because it can briefly outcompete the pathogens and candida without feeding them. Both cooked and non-cooked yeast can be digested by humans and both are in the superfood category. The b vitamins and proteins are well represented; I don't prefer any brand as long as it is live yeast. all good, Duncan > > Whats the scoop on nutritional yeast ?
