Guest guest
Hi Cheryl: I don't know if you've heard about Matt Stone. His theories are absolutely awesome. I have lost weight as many others have on various groups I'm on. He has a fee ebook that helps you understand that raising your body temperature, and slowing down your exercise routine will indeed make you lose the extra pounds. I won't go into all of it, but its fascinating. Here's the link: http://180degreehealth.com/ It's garbage that people who can't lose weight are all lazy, eating bad, not exercising. When you read this ebook you will know it has everything to do with low body temperature as do those who have thyroid issues. Guest guest
Thank you for that . I did feel that it was assumed that I was a lazy couch potato and nothing could be further from the truth. Much appreciated and I will let you know how I get on. I am also going to Alkalise as much as I can. cheers
Guest guest
The other thing I see commonly is thyroid/adrenal issues which are missed by regular doctors because they don't run the complete panel of tests and/or they misread the tests. A good endocrinologist can check that out for you. Although, I'm finding though that my endo doesn't seem to know a lot about adrenals so I'm having to search out for another doc. I knew of a lady who went on the HCG diet (which works really well-I've lost 70lbs) however, she failed miserably. She investigated and found that she had pituitary issues and thyroid issues which had been missed by her primary doctor. (Once fixed, she went on the diet and lost). My doctors also missed my thyroid issues as well. They told me my thyroid was normal when it was not. I had been on diets, did cardio, weight training, martial arts, swimming, etc and only lost 6 lbs over 6 months. It was found finally when I went to a weight/sports medicine doctor who found it by running the full thyroid panel. But even she did not know how to treat it. So I ended up going to an Endocrinologist. Once I started getting treatment for it, I tried the HCG diet and met with success. You may consider asking your doctor on your next physical to run a full thyroid panel (TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, TPO, etc.) plus D3, ferritin, B vitamins (if you have deficiencies, it will affect thyroid even if thyroid is normal). If you notice you are prone to stress/anxiety, then request an adrenal check as well. Make sure to get a copy of your results and then research them on thyroid forums/net/other doctors. BTW-thanks to a personal trainer, she advised me of the problems with soy (which I had been consuming a lot of). My doctors yet to tell me about the problems with soy. If you are doing everything right with your eating, etc then there may be something else going on with your body. Guest guest
Cheryl, I see; given your information, something may have been reducing your metabolic rate for much of your life. The coconut oil, whey and selenium, and HGH increasers as you get toward your golden years may increase your slow metabolic rate, and detoxification provided from the whey's glutathione increase will also help to reduce weight. Given you're on a nutritional and exercise program you'll probably see results with those changes. But take a good hard look at your diet anyway and determine if just possibly dysbiosis is playing a role. A lot of athletes are high-carbing, and that increases toxin load in the gut by skewing the ecology towards pathogenesis. The gut responds with inflammation, which may look like belly fat but is half inflammation. The correct diet to control bowel culture will be to reduce carb-heavy foods to almost nothing and increase inulin to historic values or at least around 15 grams per day. This has the effect of stimulating immune response and liver function too. References to the huge role a simple food component plays in health and gut issues can be found Gooogling Inulin References. I'd start with my site, listing one. Glutathione references are now legendary; Googling will turn up my reference page also at #1. You will also see a lot of Youtubes from doctors who paraphrase the science; ALL of them stress the importance of glutathione in health, aging and fitness, and they don;t all sell Immunocal. I used to sell that high-dollar item before I found out that essentially ALL the undenatured wheys furnish building blocks with which to produce glutathione. As an aside to Alobar the last Youtubes I watched were of Parkinson's patients, one of whom had diabetes, who went from crippled -- hardly moving/walking at all -- to skipping and walking with full control and laughing with facial expression in minutes with a 600 mg. glutathione injection. IV glutathione doesn't even enter most cells, so we know we can do better Google Parkinson disease glutathione. all good, Duncan > > > Thanks for the information, weight loss has always been a problem even though: > > I don't drink, smoke, or eat fatty foods. Guest guest
Birth control pills kill good bowel flora? The reason I don't believe it is that it's a very low dose and no scientific support seems to be coming up for the statement. What we do know is that probiotic action helps to enhance hormone excretion. all good, Duncan > > > > > > > > Cheryl, you can reduce weight with a reduced-carb " anti-candida " diet > > even without the coconut oil. Guest guest
Hi Jen, Absolutely, and adrenal/thyroid issues in people with gut dysbiosis is quite common. The physical stressor is the toxin load, thyroid is suppressed by stressors and cortisol and adrenaline are usually jacked by stressors. Anyway adrenal fatigue combined with low HGH release is an outcome, in a condition of metabolic suppression. We can bail people out of the metabolic suppression with attention to HGH release from the pituitary and often by supplementing zinc, and improving stomach acidity, in addition to the glutathione program with whey and selenium, and attention to the dysbiosis itself with the inulin. all good, Duncan > > > > > > Thanks for the information, weight loss has always been a problem even though: > > > > I don't drink, smoke, or eat fatty foods. I lost 70 lbs on yeast-free, but still have 40 to go and NOTHING seems to help. I could go for weeks eating just bare minimum calroies, and not lose any more weight. Guest guest
Thanks Duncan for your information. Had a look last night at some of the sites you mentioned. Stayed up far too late as I find these sites very interesting. I am an avid researcher but don't always have enough time as their is so much information out there. Could live on my computer researching but alas work has to fit in as well. I have heard of Glutathione as my sister has cancer and I am always researching for information on that. Interesting re Parkinsons as one of New Zealand's best athlete of the 80's has Parkinson's disease. He was a 1500 meter runner. I have a lot of information to sift through. Which is your site??? Supplements are very expensive here in Phuket so have to choose wisely which ones to take. Thanks again for you help. cheers Cheryl
Guest guest
Hi Laurie, whey is well tolerated by even severely milk-sensitive people but those who are truly allergic would use cycsine capsules and selenium for the glutathione increase. A better option would be unheated goat whey. I found some online a few days ago but I didn't save the link. Some people choose N-acetylcysteine but the drug hydrolyzes on its way to the cells yielding toxic freeform cysteine until what's left of it is absorbed. Enteric coated glutathione is OK for topical bowel lining, and liposomal glutathione is said to absorb into the blood serum where it has some application just as injections do. For glutathione increase in the cells where 90% is needed, precursors must be used and cystine or whey (plus selenium) are IMO the best. You can maximize glutathione manufacture with Amgenex DNA, which switches on 200 genes connected with glutathione production. It also contains the extracts of 8 of the top nutraceutical fruits and it's AMized for energy. I keep mentioning energy because that's what you're inducing to lose weight. Low carbing and detoxification also increase metabolic rate and energy production. People losing weight with the AMwater Actify and some of the other microclustered water devices report more energy too. But the elderly often need to really increase HGH release because low HGH is what drags other hormonal values down and allows one to age. For that, SomaLife gHP is stellar. My wife's trying a round of colostrum for the IGF-1 push. Colostrum is good for bowel health too. Sit bouncing for 10 minutes a day on a mini-trampoline will slim down the whole body including things that hardly ever move except to sag Ozone steam saunas are well known to be a weight reducer too. The therapy breaks down toxins and increases metabolism. all good, Duncan > > Duncan: > > All these refs to whey-what do those of us truly dairy-allergic do? Guest guest
Hi Duncan, Interesting info - thank you. Question- My alternative doctor had the theory that increasing my stomach acid would help with digestion and asthma. He gave me betaine hcl. At first it seemed to help. Then I got really sick for a couple of months. Turns out my liver enzymes went crazy and lipase depleted. I asked both my regular doc and alternative doc if the hcl could be a factor and they said they didn't think so. Then I went online and some website said that lipase works best in an alkaline environment and adding hcl would cause lipase to deplete. All my symptoms were indicative of a lipase deficiency! So I went off of it and my symptoms resolved rather quickly and liver function tests went back to normal. I don't know anything about inulin. Does it impact acidity/enzymes? Also, I heard something in the press recently about protein powders having high levels of arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury. Do I need to be careful about which whey I get? Jen > > > > > > > > > Thanks for the information, weight loss has always been a problem even though: > > > > > > I don't drink, smoke, or eat fatty foods. Guest guest
Hi Jen, yes the HCl should help with asthma by improving digestion, which allows for less putrefaction so lower toxin creation. And more lipase will be created. Asthma indicates depleted lung glutathione, and since low glutathione is actually systemic, It seems you're not on an anti-aging program that deliberately increases it. Selenium is necessary for its creation and undenatured whey provides precursors. Undenatured whey is an anti-aging tool that has also been used in studies on asthma and COPD - chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; you can read some of the studies on my resource page or find the page at #1 by Gooogling glutathione references: http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/glutathione-references.html You shouldn't need much extra lipase unless you're using fats that require digestion; my wife has no gallbladder yet she's on a full fat/high-fat diet, mainly milk fat, which requires little digestion. Inulin is not broken by acidity or human enzymes and it does not increase stomach acidity but it increases certain enzymes in the bowel that digest food. Probiotics numbers that are increased by inulin secrete enzymes. The full story on inulin with references you can find by Gooogling inuln references or going to my reference page here: http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/inulin_prebiotic_probiotic.html The press on some things might be pretty scary, but the actual amount of contamination of whey is pretty low. You can choose a whey from animals that are not exposed to pesticides, antibiotics, growth factors, etc., if you wish. The glutathione created by the whey and selenium is plenty to break and complex those toxins as well as all of your other toxins combined so it's a net gain with no worries anyway ...there are a couple of good ones on my website to compare to. all good, Duncan Crow > > > > Hi Jen, > > > > Absolutely, and adrenal/thyroid issues in people with gut dysbiosis is quite common. Guest guest
Hi Bee, When I started the diet I could feel myself loosing weight. I did cheat a bit over the holidays but going strong in the New Year. I don't seem to be dropping weight but putting it on (just a bit) I take 6 T. of CO/day and 2 CLO/day. I eat mostly meat. I looked at Fitday or whatever it is called and I don't know about calculating each meal. I don't have the brain power. Can I eyeball my meat/veggy portions? I seems like I hardly eat any veggies (or carbs). Can you help me understand my body and why I'm not loosing? Thanks, Cassandra

Have you have female related health issues? All the best, Bee

Guest guest
Hi Cassandra, If you visualized a pyramid, the widest part would be the fats, then the protein the carbs. Make sure to do your proper calculations, though, so you get the correct amounts of each. Group Moderator > > > I'm 55 y.o. I have taken birth control pills in my 20's. Guest guest
Sorry to hear that your son is struggling. I've been on a liquid diet for about three months now and have been able keep my weight from dropping to much. I drink a lot of Odwella or Naked fruit smooties. They have the kind that include protein plus fruit. One bottle can be up to 500 cals. They aren't to thick for me. And right now my E doesn't really drop liquid that well. Another thing I live on is (laugh here) Slim Fast drinks. They taste way better than ensures and aren;t to think and heavy. They only have about 200 cals per can but have lots of vitamins and fiber. Hope this helps. Stefani > > > Priti, > > This may come across as silly, but I used to drink warmed up chocolate ensure with about 1/4 cup of milk added (enough to thin it out). Guest guest
One more thing, I was thinking about your son and what I ate and my favorite was Pastina. It is a infant size pasta and great with butter and if he can, mashed peas. Also cream of rice or wheat, with losts of milk. Last I take everyday a liquid B12. I drop 2 droppers worth in my mouth and it will help with energy for him. I get so tired from lack of vitimins that the B12 gives me that little extra. You can find the liquid B12 and others at any of your CVS or Rite Aid drug stores. I wouldn't take it in pill form, it will just sit in his E and give him to much pain. It is such a limited menu but it should be easy to get down and easy on reflux and spasms. July will be here before you know it. I think that is when he is having his surgery? All the best and have a great weekend ________________________________ From: Preeti Mahajan <priti19.mahajan@...> achalasia Sent: Thu, May 19, 2011 7:03:43 PM Subject: Re: Losing weight You know another good thing about this support group is that other than the advise/suggestion there are so many good wishes and prayers we receive !hat we are not alone. It is very thick, I drank the carnation breakfast. It was a lot thinner and much easier to get down. You might try the powder and add just a cup of milk that might be even better for him then the already made bottles. I'll be thinking of him and he will get better...many of us have All the Best ________________________________ From: priti19.mahajan <priti19.mahajan@...> achalasia Sent: Thu, May 19, 2011 4:37:21 PM Subject: Losing weight Hello Friends, Another suggestion needed. Dr had recommended that my son should try to maintain his weight as he did lose a lot in the past month. He recommended Ensure and breakfast carnation. I do not know what I may be thinking or not thinking that I picked up ensure clinical strength Revigor immune balance vanilla milk shake. I did not think thatit may be thick for it to go down. So now my son is not feeling well and did not even eat anything tonight. Does anyone know of anything else that is easy to go down and can help maintain his weight till surgery in July. Thanks, Priti
