The vitamins in CLO help with calcium and magnesium absorption.Everything works

I take both. The fish oil for the omega3 and the cod liver oil for the vitamins

A and D.the CLO does have some omega 3 as well.

Thank goodness it doesn't taste like it did when I was a kid. Its actually

quite pleasant now.

we like mint or lemon flavor. I havent tasted the CLO that Wilderness Family

Naturals has But I have heard it is very high quality.

They also have lots of info about the benefits of CLO at the site.

Hi everyone!

Just be mindful of taking the cod liver oil and calcium as one can have a

build up in Vitamin D from the cod liver oil and exhibit symptoms of

hypercalcemia which include muscle and bone pain.

Merry Christmas!

Got any links to back that up? I never heard of that one.

A lack of magnesium also causes muscle cramps and heart palpitations.

This has happened to me when my levels get low.

Esp the palpitations. I had to slow down when i went for a walk because

it was putting stress on my heart.

Back on the supplements and the cramps/palpitations stop after about 3

weeks. This has happened a few times,so i know this is the problem.

Hi

How much magnesium do you take? My leg cramps are getting worse. It

used to be more the feet. I do get palpitations quite often as well.

I've ordered some magnesium today bio transformed 50mg. One tab is

equivalent to 200mg of normal magnesium apparently and says take 1-3 a

day. So that would be 600mg and I take some in my multi as well. Is

this enough do you think?

3 weeks you say. That is not long to find out if this will work for

me and will tell me if i need to include this regularly

Thanks alot

Another question. Do you only get cramp when it's cold or doesn't it

made a difference. This is what i don't understand. If it was

magnesium deficiency why do i get it only when it turns cold.

Any explanation for that anyone.

supplements you used for the palpitations and cramps besides Magnesium?

How can a 50 mg tab be equivilant to 200 mg of Magnesium???

saying that because it is bio available, high absorption. You get

the same out of it as you would a 200mg normal magnesium tab.

Although which makes are they comparing it to i don't know or is

this just hype to charge more.

My supplement book say 1g is considered safe 1.1 ratio with calcium

if you are deficient. or ideal 2;3 ratio if not.

The trouble is i have high tissue calcium and have been told not to

take calcium supplements or D probably because D helps calcium

absorption and in high doses causes calcification. So i'm in a

dilemma whether to ignore their advice. I wonder if i can take the

extra magnesium without the extra calcium. As for D. I think i'll

take it anyway. The sun is in short supply here. I get min test

done soon anyway so can always stop if having negative affect.

I take lots of Magnesium every day (2200 mg) to balance out my high

Calcium intake, which I need to purge foods of oxalate content because

oxalates in foods gives me leg cramps, back pains, and/or itchy

patches of skin if I do not follow a low oxalate diet plus take

Calcium just before each meal.

The claim that a 50 mg tab is equivilent to 200 mg of Magnesium sure

sounds like bunk to me. But I could be wrong.

If taking D, be sure to use the natural form, rather than the

artificial D. That is why I like cod liver oil. Cod liver oil has a

good balance of A and D needed by the body. Synthetic A can be toxic

in large doses, but the natural A is much safewre in large doses.

Most supplement guidelines tend to be rather too conservative. And

most do not give a clear range. Body weight is also a big factor.

I think the standard body weight is 150 pounds. Back when I weighed

270, I always took twice the recommended amount of vitamins.

Hi Shelia,

Thanks for your reply.

Decided to go to A & E cos feel so bad. However, they wasnt very helpful. Said it could just be lack of salt? Anyway, said to get crampex from chemist which I brought but still have pain.

Blood test was normal for calcium which had done January.

The pain is so bad I'm screaming inside. Never felt so low. Not sure what to do with myself.

I think I will not take my thyroxine tonight just to see if they will help.

Do you know where I can buy armour thyroid quietly? Just thought I would self medicate see if that would help. Not sure how much I would take though.

I've been having these cramps off & on since starting thyroxine 1/4/08 even before starting the candida diet. So I dont think it's related to the die-off.

The pain is so exhausting. Just wish I could get better.

Thanks

Re: Muscle Cramps

You would need a blood test to see if the cramps were caused through calcium deficiency. Could be many things right now - could be you are not converting the thyroxine to the active hormone T3 and your muscles are going into spasm because they are crying out for T3. Could be candida 'die-off' as you can get some awful symptoms with this. Could be that thyroxine is not agreeing with you and you are having a reaction to either the T4 or to the fillers, which are lactose and maize.

Sorry I can't be more helpful right now karen. If it continues, contact your doctor to see if s/he can throw any light on this problem.

Luv - Sheila

Hi everyone,Wondering if anyone knows about muscle cramps.Yesterday morning woke up to these cramps had then ever since. The only thing that helped was tonic water which I took at 2am this morning. I shouldn't really of had this cos I am on a Candida diet with antifungal supplements & your not suppose to have any sugar.Do you think my does of thyroxine is too high?Should I lower the dose?Is it cos the Candida is dieing off so now should be starting to absorb the thyroxine properly so should start again at lower does? Been on thyroxine now 4 wks on 75mg a wk now. On 50mg for 3 wks before. The cramps are exhausting me out with hot sweats, dizziness, headache, palpations, big tongue. The list goes on.Thinking it might be a calcium deficiency too?Be good to hear your thought. Thanks

- have a look at the symptoms of Candida die-off here: http://www.candida-cure-recipes.com/candida-die-off.html

Please can you cut your messages of all previous messages before clicking send, as this causes great frustration for people who are getting a Daily Digest or reading direct from the website, as they have to scroll through all of these again.

Re: Muscle Cramps

Hi Gill,

Thanks for your reply.

Yeh the pain is in all my muscles, everywhere.

But I've thought about the problem alittle more & the pain has got worst since take antifungal supplements. So as Sheila suggested, it might be Candida die-off reaction.

I've just had some psyllium, alittle vitc & milk thistle & juiced some celery & believe it or not I feel better. PHEW!

I think I'll hold back on the antifungal's for a while. Probably dieing-off too quickly.

Thanks for your support.

Hi Books, first, you are not alone!

I suffer the same muscle cramps and spasms all over my body...feet, calves,

arms, hands and even in my face. Having a terrible bout with it as we speak..

Tonight, I've taken magnesium, potassium, drank a big glass of milk, and took a

muscle relaxer (prescribed by Dr for the spasms) yet

I am STILL having the spasms and on top of it, elevated heart rate..

I would gladly listen to any advise anyone has as well.

Are we getting potassium in the foods that we eat? I remember my father taking

it when he had cramps. What should I be trying?

+++There's plenty of potassium in foods on this diet, so it is extremely rare to

be low on it. Are you taking all of the supplements, including the correct kind

and amounts of omega 3, vitamins A & D (cod liver oil), and vitamin E?

Are you taking thyroid meds or have low thyroid issues?

Are you getting a high source of calcium in your diet, i.e. by having dairy

other than butter, or having sardines every day, or having lots of mineral-rich

bone broth?

Are you consuming a lot of tea or having green drinks, eating lots of leafy

greens, etc. that make your body lose water along with minerals?

Are you having any grains of any kind?

All the best, Bee

Hi iel,

Yes. As toxins get mobilized, they can cause your muscles to feel sore (almost

like after a strenuous work-out). You will also become sleepy and when you do,

it's best to sleep or rest as much as possible since your body requires rest to

heal.

Hi ,

Question regarding getting a lot of sleep. Sometimes I don't get to eat dinner

until 8:00-8:30 so I don't go to sleep until 11:00-11:30 since I try to wait 3

hours before I go to sleep so I get a good night sleep. I'm so tired though

around 10:30 or so. Does it matter if I go to sleep sooner than the 3 hour

timeframe from when I eat? I wake up at 5:30am for work so if I go to sleep

after 11:00 I would only get 6 hours of sleep those nights. Which is okay

somedays but just don't know what's really sufficient or if it's bad to go

to sleep less than 3 hours priors to eating.

Thanks!

Hi ,

If I were you, I'd go to bed as soon as you feel tired. The recommendation of

eating at least 3 hours bed is more relevant for those who are having a hard

time sleeping since coconut oil can be energizing and can keep some people

awake. But if you are tired, by all means, go to bed. You do not have to wait

3 hours before going to bed.

Take care,

Bee,

For some reason I can not answer via my/your message.

I have no thyroid issues.

I do eat some yogurt and lots of butter, but no tea, veggies (cooked or

raw), and no grains. My diet is pretty much coconut oil, butter, eggs,

meats ( beef, pork and chicken), and some cheese now and then plus

all the recommended supplements, although I have increased the CA and

Mag (in ratio).

The cramps are getting more frequent and more sever as time goes on.

This is not retracing as I have never had this happen in the past, except

for about a month ago.

Other than the cramps I am doing great........
