Guest guest
Hi Bee, My name is and last week you encouraged me to go off my 1/2 grain thyroid medicine since I am completely on the diet have been for about a month and a half (and trying half way for a year before that). I was on 2 grain for about a year and few months, and was able to come down gradually the last 3 months to this half grain. ALL BACKGROUND INFO ASIDE.... I seem to be able to accept (or ignore) all healing issues except when my neck or thyroid is swollen. It freaks me out and makes me worry about going off the medicine - SIMPLY b/c I did so without telling my doctor. She told me all my levels were good and balanced, a bit overmedicated, but that I should stay on the half grain for 3 more months to help my body ease completely off of them with " my new healthy habits " . She was concerned that I was coming down off the medicine too quickly and that my symptoms could go either way - too much thyroid or too little (I was having heart palpitations, excessive energy, diarrhea) Should I just ignore a swollen neck and go on with daily business? HASHIMOTO's is what concerns me......What do you think of my doctor not knowing or " allowing " me to be completely off the medicine. It sounds like a dumb question, but as they say, one gets frightful when the medical field spews " wrong " info at you for 2 years. p.s. I have been feeling great, a little anxiously wired, then sluggish, but inspired by moderator Marissa's thyroid success stories and emails!!!!
