Guest guest
This is a favored herb used in many herbal formulae. It is used wherever SOOTHING, COOLING, ANTI-INFLAMMATORY effect is desired. It is most commonly found in UTI remedies where it works to good effect. I used it in vet practice as my #1 magic bullet for the all-too-common urinary inflammatory disease in cats, it works great for people too. Nature's Way makes at least two products for UTI which contain couchgrass. I was always fascinated by the herb and had only found reference to it in British Isles herbal recipes (they pronounce it " COOCH- grass " ). Finally, when I was able to travel to England I asked herbalists there to show me this mysterious, valuable and effective herb and they took me out and showed me the magic plant....it was what we here call CRABGRASS! Ha ha ha. Nevertheless, it does work and so does the Gallstonex. I've been taking 3 capsules twice a day now for a week and all the symptoms of damp heat that I'd been building up are gone. I've had no side-effects at all but I've noticed if you take it without food you get the same feeling you get from cayenne capsules, it's the edge of going into heartburn, acid reflux, or bloatedness, but it never fully materializes. Some of the ingredients such as tumeric and ginger are fairly " hot " herbs. All the same, I think it should be taken with food for best results.
