I was thinking about switching to 2 tablespoons of cod liver oil and eliminating the halibut liver oil. I was wondering, though, if this would be too much of the omega 3s since the cod liver oil has around 770 mg. of EPA and DHA per teaspoon. Is 770 x 6 too much? +++Hi , No, that isn't too much omega 3 because 4,800 total omega 3 is recommended by Weston A. Price Foundation. Hopefully they got it right. However, I think it is better to take only 1 tablespoon of Garden of Life CLO plus 1 halibut liver oil capsule per day since you may be getting lower amounts of omega 6 on this program than most people do. Guest guest
Hi Bee, Do you mean one could be deficient in omega 6 following this program? I'm taking 4 teaspoons of Garden of Life CLO per day without halibut liver oil, could it be problematic? All the best, Adri. > > > > I am currently taking 1 tablespoon of cod liver oil plus halibut liver oil for my daily allotment of vitamins A and D and omega 3s. Guest guest
I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean that it's better to take less omega 3 so that the ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 isn't huge? Thank you. > > > > I am currently taking 1 tablespoon of cod liver oil plus halibut liver oil for my daily allotment of vitamins A and D and omega 3s. I just looking into the ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 on this program. Bee

Guest guest
Thanks Bee, But I don't understand, according to the Candida Supplements - Description & Doses page : Garden of Life Olde World Icelandic Cod Liver Oil. You have two options for taking it: - Option 1: Take 2 tablespoons per day. - Option 2: Take 1 tablespoon per day plus a capsule or soft gel that contains 10,000 IU vitamin A and 400 IU vitamin D found in fish " liver " oil, i.e. halibut, cod or shark. I'm only taking 4 teaspoons instead of 2 tablespoons but I'm within the range according to the Vitamins A, D & Omega 3 Daily Amounts: Vitamin A: 20,000 to 30,000 IU Vitamin D: 800 to 1,200 IU Omega-3: 2,000 to 3,000 mg All the best, Adri. > > > > Hi Bee, > > > > Do you mean one could be deficient in omega 6 following this program? > > > > I'm taking 4 teaspoons of Garden of Life CLO per day without halibut liver oil, could it be problematic? > > +++Hi Adri, > > You should be taking 3 teaspoons of Garden of Life CLO plus 1 capsule of Halibut Liver Oil. > > I just looking into the ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 on this program. > > Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee, I have been doing option 1. Is this wrong? Garden of Life Olde World Icelandic Cod Liver Oil - Option 1: Take 2 tablespoons per day. Price Foundation (WAPF) and Dr. Mercola as reputable sources of information, that I'm finding aren't always correct. WAPF recommends 4,800 omega 3 per day for people who aren't on this program or on their program (??) who may be getting a few sources of Omega 6. However, some people on this program won't be getting as much Omega 6 since not everyone is eating " grass-fed " meats and eggs from chickens fed their natural diet, and some people aren't having much extra virgin olive oil or any. I can't cover all bases all of the time, but I think it is better to err on the side of caution since " more is not better. " You only need to take 1 tablespoon of Garden of Life plus 1 halibut liver oil capsule, or as Adri pointed out this morning, you can take 4 teaspoons (1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon). Guest guest
I still have a few questions about this issue. (1) What is the ideal ratio of omega 3 to omega 6? (2) Is it okay not to be getting very much omega 6 or do you recommend trying to add more omega 6 to the diet - extra virgin olive oil and the other foods you mentioned? (3)Or does it not matter how much omega 6 one is getting as long as the ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 is not too great? Thank you. > > > > Hi Bee, > > > > I have been doing option 1. It is a good idea to have 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil every day. We know that this program with the amounts of cod liver oil I've recommended haven't harmed anyone, and it has helped people get healthy, so don't get that concerned about omega balancing. Guest guest
Hi Bee, I never have olive oil, I don't think I've had any for over a year now. Should I be having extra virgin olive oil daily? Thanks, +++Hi , It is a good idea to have 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil every day. Bee

However it is a good idea to have some extra virgin olive oil daily. Bee
