Guest guest
I remember being in the Canary Islands in the late 70's and they had an artichoke drink that was useful if you had diarhea. I was told that they also drank the same drink in other north african countries such as Tunisia, Morocco, etc. It was called Horchata and tasted milky (maybe because it was white). I believe that it is not the artichoke " flower " that is available in the grocery store, but the artichoke plant tubers - like tiny round potatoes. Italy has a drink called horchata, but it is made with almond milk. I tried it, but it is very sugary. So you see, many countries know the benefits of artichoke on our digestive system. I recognize the benefits of the formula for liver in all ingredients, except for the couchgrass. As for the price - you can make your own tinctures of many of these things at a fraction of the cost. The herbal business is getting as procey as the drug business. -Maybe I ought to buy stock in the herbal industry............. ~Suzanne > It's called an ARTICHOKE SPECIAL FORMULA and contains (in decreasing > order) ARTICHOKE, PEPPERMINT, TUMERIC, MILK THISTLE, GINGER, and > COUCHGRASS. Guest guest
Will- I bought Gallstonex last month, and was using it fairly regularly and thought it was pretty good. I wound up stopping it tho because of my gastroparesis - I went about 4 days with no food or water (the first 3 I threw up everything I ingested, so by day 4 I quit trying, then by day 5 I was back on electrolyte fortified water). As soon as my tummy's up to eating again, I'll go back on the Gallstonex. Cathie ----------- Date: Tue, 24 Aug 2004 15:45:39 -0000 From: " Will Winter " <holistic@...> ....so I went back to my bottle of Gallstonex that I'd purchased quite a while ago but never used and began taking it at less than the recommended 3 capsule dose. I've now worked up to full dosage of 3 capsules twice a day with meals. It seems to be calming my innards down already. ...
