Guest guest
My dog fell and broke his leg and when I went to pick him up he bit my finger. I took him right away to the vet and my finger was bleeding. He bit me on my thumb. They gave me stuff to wash the wound. They did not say anything about getting a tetanus shot but family is telling me that I should maybe go and get one. What can I do about this. I think it is fine because my dog has had his shots. Thank you for your advice in advance Theresa

I suggest you mix 3% hydrogen peroxide (H202) from the drug store, 50/50 (half and half) with non-chlorinated water and soak a gauze or bandaid with it, and keep it on just overnight, taking it off during the day so air can help the healing processes. It should heal up just fine. My daughter got a nail through her foot and the only thing that helped was when my neighbor put H202 in warm water to soak her foot. Then she soaked cotton strips in the 50/50 mixture and wrapped her foot with it. The healing was miraculous! All the best, Bee
Guest guest
*** Bee, I was told by my vet not long ago to not use peroxide for very long on a wound because it would cause tissue damage. Any truth to that? I was using it full strength however...maybe that's why? Heidi > > > > My dog fell and broke his leg and when I went to pick him up he bit my finger. However, it should be diluted since it is strong, but even full strength it would not damage tissues. All the best, Bee
