healthy house tests/suggestions?

We are going to be moving & I want to make sure we conduct the proper tests to

make sure we're not buying a sick house. Does anybody have any recommendations?

The house we put an offer on has carpet & needs a new kitchen (it's half

gutted). We are going to do as many renovations as possible before we move in.

Does anybody have any suggestions? I've never done the proper research in the

past.
