-It wont be the high quality tetra packs that WFN has , but you can buy cans of

cream at most oriental food stores. I noticed they also sell the powdered form

at my local store, Im going to try that. I got the concentrated coconut cream

from tropical traditions. I havent tried it yet because I use mine to make a

protein shake every morning. The problem is now that the temperature is lower

the concentrat is so hard It doesnt lend itself to making into coconut milk. It

would work if I heated it up before I usd it but that is a lot of work when Im

in a hurry to get going in the morning.

You mean to tell me that WFN is the only online source for those

boxes of Coco Gem coconut cream?? No wonder they are always out of

stock. Why don't you just mix the cream half and half with water to

get coconut milk (add some coconut milk and then some water in your

smoothie)? Seems to me that I read that you can do that. I use the

coconut cream anytime I need milk in a recipe, have a small amount

mixed with GF chocolate chips for dessert, use in smoothies, or just

drink. I love it. I don't think I can go back to the canned stuffed

in the HFS.

The concentrate is hard like cold Virgin coconut oil

http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/coconut_cream_concentrate.htm

It says add 1 teaspoon to 6-8 oz of waterto make coconut milk. This would be

much cheaper in the long run than he cans. Im going to have to try this since I

have it.

, when you try this, please let me know if it tastes like coconut milk. I

looked at the link and it shows the nutrition facts label. It says there are 96

one teaspoon servings. Can you really get that much out of that 16 ounce

container? That would be very economical then, once mixed it would be like 48

cans of coconut milk. For $10? Wow.

Something seems not right with those numbers. Looking at

container of the Coco Gem brand of coconut milk sold by WFN, each 1/3

cup portion of coconut milk contains 12 grams of fat. This means 36

grams of fat per 8 ounces. 36 grams of water is more than 2

tablespoons, and coconut oil is less dense than water, so one would

need even more than that. Unless they are making the lowfat coconut

milk which has a lot more water in it and a lot less coconut oil.

How non-observant of me! I had WFN on my mind and flat didn't see

This is just to say that I am really pleased with this Jeeny's coconut

cream. It's really thick. Since I stopped having drinks with dairy cream,

to which I added VCNO, I have not been having tea or coffee, which is

probably a good thing. My cocoa I have with the coconut cream, and today

also my " Ecco " cereal " coffee " - coconut cream and a little VCNO. Plus a

little Stevia.

Rowena

" Most of them had additives, emulsifiers, even thickeners.

The only one I found on the shelves without anything was from Penang,

Malaysia, mae by Jeenhuat Foodstuffs. "

By the way, I thought I would mention that I came to the end of the Ayam Brand

100% coconut cream yesterday.

When I first tasted it when I opened it, I couldn't help myself. I was going,

" Mmmmnnn! Mmmmmnn! " It was lovely.

It was thinner than the other one I tried, the Jeeny's.

Today I think I will try the Home Brand from Woolworths. This is a much bigger

tin, and sounds quite fluid. Hmmm, I think I feel a curry coming on!

A box of the coconut cream that I buy has 750 calories and contains the

equivalent of 4 TBP of oil. If you can afford the calories you can get all of

your oil in. I throw my coconut cream in a blender to mix it up really well and

than pour it into a variety of ice cube trays that I have that has small

compartments. I have it figured out how many calories, carbs, and oil it has

depending on which one I pour it into. I freeze it and than pop them out into a

container which I store in my freezer. That was the only way I was able to get

off of dairy in my tea.

To get the benefit of VCO, it's really better to take VCO itself - but

you don't have to eat it off the spoon!

One spoonful in a hot coffee is very nice - in fact I now have coconut

milk instead of cream/milk in my coffee. You can also fry with it, or

stir it into soups, or make cocoa candies with it (search archives for

recipe). It's also nice in hot cocoa, and used in baking. The

possibilities are almost endless.

Ive been looking for something economical for ages and also have been

looking to get a machine to turn mature coconut meat into a paste, but

can also be used for essene bread dough.

This will all be coming together soon.

If you can get green coconuts, have you thought of fermenting them

I don't buy them green (I live in Tennessee!) :o) , but I buy the " Young

Hi:

In Dr. Bruce's book he says to make a delicious replacement for Cow's milk, you

take a 14 oz. can of Coconut Milk and add 1 cup of water. Then sweeten to

taste. Yummy.

A Strawberry Smoothie would be made by using this above recipe in a blender,

adding about 1 cup of frozen Strawberries and whiz that.

Coconut Cream

Hi

I bought some Coconut Cream from Tropical traditions. On their site it

says that cream and water are the same as coconut milk. I tried it

today. I heated some cream up and then put water in it for a

smoothie. It has a coconut taste but the consistancy was like water and

not like the creamy coconut milk. What am I doint wrong? I put in a

little more than a tsp with 8 ounces of water.

Another question--Do they sell coconut milk in anything other than the

small cans?

Thanks

Hi:

Don't try and count the fat grams it goes by body weight.

If you weigh 100 lb. you need 2 1/2 tbsp. daily divided up with meals. Let it

melt on your warm food.

If you weigh 125 lb. - 3 tbsp. daily.

If you weigh 150 lb. - 3 1/2 tbsp. daily.

If you weigh 175 lb. and over - 4 tbsp. daily.

Bonnie

I hate the thought of taking oil but really want to have VCO. Have

found coconut cream powder great to mix into foods.Could someone

please help me with working out how much I need to take.Per serving

(2tbsp) there is a total of 5.2g of fat.I weigh 50kgs so need to take

eqivalent to 21/2tbsp per day as maintenance dose. The powder has 64.4

total fat per 100g.

Thanks you maths people, Lindylocket

I want to order some coconut cream concentrate after following that

link. But I have questions. If you don't buy in bulk would it save

you money to join the buyers club? I see now they are having a sale

an shipping is free to club members. I was thinking about joining an

couldn't decide what to do. It would save me now to join because of

the shipping for one month. If it helps with single purchases maybe

I should consider a year.

Just wondering what you all think? Do most of you buy your coconut

oil there too?

Another question. Is it possible to replace part of that 3 or 4

tablespoons of coconut oil with the oil in the cream. I'm one of

those people that don't really eat 3 meals a day so I forget

sometimes to eat it. Oh the other hand I drink a lot so that would

Yes, wether you use the 3-4 tbsp. in oil (on warm food or a hot drink), the

coconut cream (however you use that) or Coconut Milk. It's all the same.

However, coconut cream and coconut milk contain far less coconut oil

and VCO. Good coconut milk contains 17% oil. Low fat coconut milk

contaons even less. So if one uses high fat coconut milk, one should

use about 6 times as much milk as one would use for oil. That's

about 12 ounces of high fat coconut milk to get 4 Tbsp of oil.

I think there are more benefits from the gold label VCO than the

cream. BUT the cream is still good to use, it is only 70% coconut oil.

Also, tropical has free ground shipping today only (12/1) in case you

are interested. I saw it when ordering.
