Guest guest
Hi All, I am only at the beginning of journey...about 2 months. How do you cope with going to work and functioning with day to day issues while having brain fog, mood swings (I assume bipolar) emotional spells, anxiety, lethargy...etc. I just had a meeting with my manager and started crying. I work in Finance and this behavior is so unacceptable. I was told that I need to focus more and pay attention to detail. I don't know if I going to be able to continue working. How did you cope? Wondering if you may lose your job is just more added stress of not even knowing what is wrong with you. Guest guest
Hi Jess, I am at the 6th month of the candida diet. One thing that really helped me cope with my anxiety is acupuncture. This diet also helped tremendously but I think acupuncture speed up the process with my mental status. After a few sessions my anxiety disappeared. I also had lots of fear and that disappeared too. One thing that helps me is trying to live in the here and now and not focus on what I think people think so much. I still have a lot of issues with candida and numerous healing reactions at this point. When I could afford acupuncture it made me feel more balanced in general. It is rather expensive though and if you can't afford it then you could try meditation. This is just how I coped when I could afford it. Right now I am low on funds so I haven't been in a while. So mostly I do meditation, deep breathing, and yoga to help with stress. Hi All, I am only at the beginning of journey...about 2 months. Guest guest
****Hi Jess, I've been on the diet 6 months. I started a new job about 2 months in on the diet and lived in fear of being fired because I couldn't concentrate on the detailed work. I'd have to go to the bathroom to breathe deeply when I had mini panic attacks. At about 3 months on the diet, however, the brain fog and anxiety improved significantly. I still have emotional swings and have to fight back tears at my desk, though. Sorry I can't give you much advice, but hopefully your brain will function better soon. I can definitely sympathize! As another person posted, yoga and meditation helps. Also, I have a CD of progessive relaxation that I would play at night before bed (like a body scan) that helped a little. I like the Jon Kabat Zinn CDs. Sometimes I just listen to his voice to calm down while I'm cooking or getting ready in the morning. Hope it gets better soon, Hi All, I am only at the beginning of journey...about 2 months. I can't speak personally to any of your issues but I know a gal from another forum who is following a similar program (high fat,low carb) who is bipolar and has been part of a study to use a ketogenic diet to control her bipolar-ism. She has been on this pgm for just over a year and is off her meds entirely. It would seem Bee's pgm is going to take you in a similar direction so keep on keeping on. began 03/09/
Guest guest
Hi Jess, I just saw your message. Other members of the group have given some good suggestions... I really liked meditation, especially, and I did tai chi from a few months in, as well. I found both very helpful. I was not working at the time - I was in a master's program, and it was very difficult to focus on my classes because I was depressed, and it was VERY difficult to write my thesis because my brain felt so sluggish. I am certain I could have done a better job if I was doing it now, but I did get through. I started working a few months later, and it was tough - and I was " only " temping! The main thing is to take things one day at a time. Is it only you using the word " unacceptable " ? You can choose to let it go. Practicing deep breathing of any kind (which is part of meditation and tai chi, btw) is so helpful. Things will begin to get better without you noticing right away... remember: the past is done, the future is yet to come, but today is a gift, that's why it's called the present. Live there. Sending lots of healing thoughts, andra > > Hi All, > > I am only at the beginning of journey...about 2 months.
