Guest guest
Hi everyone, I finished my analysis of the omega 3 to omega 6 ratios on this program, and whether they were imbalanced or not. Please note: There were no complaints by anyone on my program that indicate they were getting too much omega 3, and obviously this program has been improving everyone's health for many years. The reason I questioned it was my own fault, after experimenting with only seafoods/fish and eggs for over 2 weeks. I wanted to see if not having red meats would cause problems. Yes, it did! I must have been dense at the time to think that much seafood would not cause problems. I also got my usual symptoms by not having red meats, which is a back ache between my shoulder blades which is the site of a very old injury. Red meats contain unique nutrients that are not in seafoods/fish, eggs, or other kinds of meats. At the same time I was also taking the usual amount of cod liver oil. One day I cut my finger and it bled way too much, so I became alarmed. It took awhile to figure out that having seafood/fish every day means I should not take any omega 3 since they are high in omega 3 - duh? So, don't do this yourself. Always have a variety of meats, with at least one serving per week of red meat liver and seafood/fish, but don't go overboard with seafoods/fish like I did, unless you eliminate your omega 3 supplement. lol! However, on days you have seafood/fish don't lower your omega 3 supplement dose since your body will balance it out over time. My research started with Dr. Weston A. Price's book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. He gave 27 children at a Mission 1/2 teaspoon of high vitamin cod liver oil mixed with 1/2 teaspoon of high vitamin butter oil along with a nutritious noon day meal that he planned. The amount of omega 3 (EPA plus DHA) in 1 teaspoon of high vitamin cod liver oil is 1,600 mg, so 1/2 teaspoon = 800 mg omega 3. Since children are given 1/3rd of an adult dose, the adult dose of omega 3 would be 1/2 teaspoon x 3 = 1.5 teaspoons = 2,400 mg of omega 3, so my recommendations are definitely okay. I also found many other references that recommend between 3,000 and 5,000 mg of omega 3 daily, however I believe 5,000 mg is too high because of many foods sources on this program, so I'd rather be cautious. In addition, I checked the sources of omega 6 on this program, and found so many, including unrefined coconut oil! It is also in butter, eggs, and meats, so it wouldn't be necessary to take any extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) to balance out the ratios. However, it won't harm anyone to have 1-2 tablespoons of EVOO per day since the foods that contain omega 3 also contain omega 6. My conclusions are, that the amount of omega 3 I recommend are definitely okay. However, do not take 2 tablespoons of Garden of Life Cod Liver Oil (GOL CLO) as I recommended previously, even though it didn't do anyone any harm. Here's 2 options for taking it: Option 1) Take 1 tablespoon GOL CLO plus 1 fish " liver " oil capsule containing 10,000 IU vitamin A and 400 IU vitamin D, i.e. halibut, cod or shark. OR Option 2) Take 4 teaspoons GOL CLO. <this the easiest option It can be difficult to measure out 4 teaspoons, so I suggest you use a small glass container, like a shooter glass, and measure it out carefully only once. Then mark the glass at that level with a line using nail polish so it won't wash off. Also remember not to take any supplements one day per month in order to allow your body to adjust itself as it sees fit. Guest guest
Hi Bee, In regards to your two options you recommend...what about if I take just the capsules? Should I take 2 or 3 capsules of the Life Time, Omega 3? And should I still take 3 capsules of the Natural Factors Halibut Liver Oil like you previously thought? Thanks, My conclusions are, that the amount of omega 3 I recommend are definitely okay. Also beef contains omega 6 too, while seafoods don't. Bee
Guest guest
Thank you Bee for letting us know about your omega 3 and 6 ratio research. You are wonderful to be always studying and learning even though your program is such a success as it is. I love the way you are always moving onwards. Thank you for also trying the all sea food experiment, that is something I've been tempted to do too! This dynamism is what makes your program so great. Your independence from the medical and pharmecutical makes you a true revolutionary! Thank you for being you.
