Guest guest
Hello to all and I hope everyone is well. I am also a bit over 2 year post op and I`ve gained back about 10LB. I was 145 last month and now i`m about 155. ; o ( I wear a 9-10. I started out at 225LB. It happen in like a month, too. I did start back at the GYM and hope this helps. I never did reach my goal weight of 125LB. I'm 5`1 " and thought it wasn't an unrealistic goal. I also had a TT last year that the DR. took off about 6LB in fat and skin. Right now I`m at my pre TT weight. Any input would be appreciated. I also love the sugar food too. At one time I dumped on it, but now it seems like my body craves it. Guest guest
Joanne, I hear alot of people talking about gaining weight. I am 3 years out and wish I could worry about gaining 10 pounds. My problem is just opposite and be happy you don't have this problem I can't stop losing no matter how much I eat I still lose weight. It seems the more I eat the more I lose. I am 5'11 and weigh 125 pounds. My doctor is having a fit and so is my husband. I am starting to worry because the weight loss won't stop. I am very weak and severely anemic. I have to have iron shots every week for a year in my butt now talk about pain. I also have to have a B-12 shot every month. I guess my point is be happy with the weight you have lost and don't worry about those 10 pounds gained it could be alot worse. Liz
Guest guest
Thanks, My doc here in Ct. is working on getting me back to where I need to be weight wise. She has me keeping a food journal and is staying on top of my blood work. She is very good. Liz
Guest guest
Lis, It sounds to me like you may need a revision --- you desperately need to talk to Dr. R or to another WLS. Guest guest
I too have gained 10 pounds in the last month. I've never really exercised but guess I'm going to have to start exercising now. I must admit that I'm not taking any " supplements " except for my three multi-vitamins daily. In the morning, I'm going to mix up my energy drink complete with ZMA and see if it helps. I'm glad I'm not the only one...it's not a good group to belong to. I'm 5'8 " and I'm now up to 170 pounds. Guest guest
Hi Jen!!! How are you doing? Did you get married? Good to see you post. You can download the newest manual and the supplements have changed a little. Dr.R talked about DHEA in Las Vegas this past weekend. He is always trying to improve the program for us. Guest guest
He already has addressed this for us. It's all listed in the new manual at the clos website. The manual changes every few months. Print out a new one and you will see everything listed. Even 2 years ago when I had my MGB we had a whole list of supplements he advised us to take like creatine and ZMA and vit E and calcium. Margaret in St. Louis > Yes, please Dr. R.... or staff... Guest guest
Hey Margaret! I DID get married, it's going well. I think you know I am now in Ft Lauderdale. I am working again as a dental office manager, my husband is a psychiatric RN. I have gained about 10 lbs as of about 3 or 4 mos ago and have maintained that new weight since then. Would like to get back down at least the 10 lbs tho. I had plastic surgery in CR over July 4th. I broke their records for the # of surgeries in 2 days. And buddy I paid for it!! It is the worst thing I have ever gone thru in my life. I had a TT, breast lift and enlargement, legs lifted, arms done, lower face lifted and upper eye lids done. OUCH. Wouldn't wish that much surgery on my worst enemy. It's been 5 months and in many ways I am just getting back to normal. How are you? Are you maintaining your weight?? I take my vitamins, citrucel and tums every day, but none of the other supplements. I wonder if it would help to take them. I wish Dr R would elaborate a little more when he brings up something like that! Do i have to print out the WHOLE manual to get the info we need? So good to hear from you! Sharon has lost...hmm... I think 70 some pounds now. She is a very slow loser, but she is able to eat ALOT for being 11 mos out. I am wondering if she might need a revision. Talk to you soon! Guest guest
Hi, SO if all the blood levels are good in all areas like teh creatine, should we continue to take it? I would think that there would be adjustments made for those who have reached goal. Just a thought.. aW -- Re: Gaining weight He already has addressed this for us. Guest guest
There is no blood level of creatine that I know of ----- you may be thinking of creatinine which is a test for kidney function........ > Re: Gaining weight > > > > He already has addressed this for us. Guest guest
Jen, To print only the pages for the supplements, download the manual. Then find the pages you want to print out. For instance if you want to print out pages 12, 13, and 14, click on File in the menu bar. Then click on Print. Then Change the pages to print, for instance in my software I would enter 12 then 14 in the options of what pages to print. The vitamin and supplement information is on pages 56 through 62 so I entered in 56 and 62 for the pages to print, it caused my printer to print pages 56 through 62. Guest guest
Cheryl, hugs to you girl. I too am fighting a few pounds. But it ain't 160 and for that I am grateful. I'm going to go to WW...I need the motivation. If I wait, the pounds will pack back on. I need to do it NOW. Thanks for your motivating post. Guest guest
Hello all. Ok I am 4 years out now and find myself gaining weight, too. In the past year I`ve put 28 LB back on. ; o ( My goal was 125 and the least weight I`ve been to was 148 after a tummy tuck, which took off 7 lbs. Now I am 174 and started at 225. Only 50 off my original starting point. It appears that most that are as long term as I am are having the same problem, correct? Maybe we`re all just too comfortable eating more and more. Any input from others with this problem would be great. Do the high protein diets really work? has any tried? I do exercise. Walk and have 2 kids I chase after all day. I guess I could be more active. Thanks, Joanne Tillman 06/09/2000 225 Currently
Guest guest
Hi all! I am 3 1/2 years out. My lowest weight was 160 pounds (I started at 291 pounds). I am now up to 185....it fluctuates between 180 and 187. I would love to lose the extra 20 plus pounds but ....well....maybe one day. It scares me when the scale starts moving up and it seemed effortless to put the weight back on. I laugh at myself sometimes though....heck.....I used to wear a size 26....and dreamed of wearing a 12.....now I'm worrying about the 12's getting too tight....go figure!! I guess the MGB was ...just like we were told in the beginning....a tool...just a tool. I'm still glad I did it and would do it again tomorrow. Just make two cents worth!!!
