Guest guest
, You know most of those weight gain products like ensure contain a lot of corn syrup, which is a lot of suger, and that is supposed to be bad for cancer. I had good luck with a probiotic. Chemo hurts the intestines and destroys the natural bacteria. A probiotic can help that situation. Guest guest
Grapefruit doesn't have that much sugar, and red grapefruit juice is cancer-healing, as is apple (which doesn't have that much sugar, at least nonsweet apples). The others have a lot of sugar but also cancer-healing properties. I would consume no more than 8oz a little at a time, and I wouldn't consume pineapple or papaya juice unless I was needing to gain weight. It's a trade off between the harmful aspects of the sugar and the need to gain weight.
Guest guest
Loenard, Budwig's protocol, Flax Seed Oil well blended with Cottage Cheese is supposed to heal cancer, but it also helps you gain weight. That's what I call killing two birds with one stone! Syd
Guest guest
I agree with you Syd. Probiotics are excellent for weight gain. You have to be careful with different methods as it may increase the ATP energy of the immature cells and thus proliferating the tumors again. Guest guest
Hi Syd, I've had a rough summer and haven't been here to the site much. But I absolutely agree with you. Sugar is absolutely bad for cancer and should be avoided to avoid getting cancer. I stopped using the Ensure (which I did get a great wholesale deal on thru KARMANOS Cancer Institute) and started using my Body FX shakes from First Fitness, which I also get a great deal on! I had probiotics in my Reneu, the colon detox product I talk about the most! I used Reneu for several years before my cancer. My best case scenario, if I survived, was supposed to be a permanent colostomy. But I'm still alive, have no colostomy and the damage to the site of my cancer is completely healed. Thank you for sharing this vitally important cancer recovery information with all of us. Guest guest
<<<I weighed myself this morning. Much to my surprise I gained 4 pounds.>>> I did the samething. I figured I gained because of bloating...maybe all the fiber? Water? Veggies? My stomach has a PMS bloat to it and it's not that time of the month. Amazingly, though my fingers aren't bloated and wedding rings are actually loose. I'd love to hear other opinions, too.
Guest guest
> Any thoughts? Get rid of the scale until it's over!!! You could be holding some water. You're body could be in a state of physical " shock " and freaking out at what your doing to it. You might also find that the sleeves of your shirts and pants legs get a little snug. That's the muscles. Don't worry and freak, they'll go back down. Keep on eating clean, lifting heavy, drinking the water, and throw out the scale. You'll do wonderful. Guest guest
Nearly everyone gains the first week. It's a normal fluctuation in water and glycogen from the heavy training and quality fuel. Glycogen is stored carbohydrate in your muscles and liver, every molecule of glycogen has a couple molecules of water attached to it, so it's heavy. It's not fat though, and it won't make you bigger. Glycogen stores can fluctuate by several pounds a day and they're usually pretty depleted in anybody who's been low-carbing, dieting strictly, or not lifting weights prior to BFL. It's nothing to worry about. Read this: Why the Scale Lies http://www.skwigg.com/id12.html Occasionally, people will see a weight gain because they start eating bread and pasta and sugary bars and boxed rice mix 6 times a day. Here are some pointers on that one: Do You Want to Lean Out or Swell Up? http://www.skwigg.com/id55.html If you have any doubts, you can post a menu and get some feedback on your meals. Guest guest
I just have to ask... I don't mean to be pertinent or anything but I need to know. If you can SEE the MUSCLES forming and are getting more SHAPELY then why do you CARE what the number is on a dumb piece of equipment? It can't see what you look like or the changes you're making. It doesn't know if you are 100 pounds of cotton balls or 100 pounds of steel. (those cotton balls take up a whole lot more space than the steel) For example: Right now I am 20 pounds heavier than I was 5 years ago. YIKES? No, My measurements are the exact same!! The same. I'm the same size in inches in my waist, arms, legs, abs... even wearing a smaller size jean even, but weigh 20 pounds heavier. How? Muscle weighs more than flab. I'm not where I want to be yet, I've got a long way to go. But I mostly use the scale to judge how much water I'm retaining and for body fat measurements at biofitness.com I think it's very cool to take up the same amount of " air space " yet have more body mass. And you have the same body mass and are taking up LESS air space if you are losing inches. And isn't that our goal. We don't want to be that 100 pounds of cotton balls taking up all that space. We want to be that 100 pounds of steel that take up very little space. You're are absolutely on the right track. Keep working hard and blow raspberries at that scale. Guest guest
The scale is VERY deceiving....try taking your measurments or measuring your body fat....those may tell a whole other story!!! > > > > I group, my name is Carolyn and like alot of you, I also started my > first challenge on Monday. Guest guest
> I can't stand the thought or taste of packaged shakes... I agree, I have yet to find a RTD (readytodrink) packaged protein shake that doesnt have like a tinny medicinal aftertaste. I vote for the protein powder as a basic necessity when you want to increase your daily protein when the tuna, eggs, and lean meats get boring. I like the Costco brand in the Dutch chocolate - 5lb container at under $26 I think it was - no clumps, mixes well and satisfies the chocoholic in me :-) > In my opinion: keep the sweets as a daily routine and keep > the extra pounds give up the sweets and lose the pounds; > you'll still be able to have them on occasions, but not > frequently I think that depends on what sweets you are eating - usually the more you have the more you want and cutting them out all together is quite like an alcoholic 'drying out' (lol) and then you realize hey I dont really crave these anymore and when you do indulge it tastes sooooo much better (or not as good as you remember it should, that happens alot too). Then there are some people who can inpose limitations on their sweet intake - like a woman I know at work who eats Hershey Kisses for a fix (25 calories each I think they are) and has actually lost like 80lbs over this past year - so it depends on ones self control I guess and working it into your daily calorie count if you really cant do without :-) joni ---------------------------------------- *Nothing tastes as good as being in shape feels*
Guest guest
I love the EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control RTD ones. They aren't enough to be a meal replacement but it is an easy way to add some extra protein to a meal without adding a lot of extra fat (P15, C6, F3) and they don't have that icky aftertaste. > > Hi ladies, I have been listening to the conversations and have some > questions for you all. Guest guest
Dan THere are a number of good sites on dealing with candida. Enjoy seasoning with oregano, liberally, plus cayenne, ginger and garlic. Elminate grains, sugar in all forms, and fermented/cultured foods except for yoghurt and kefir. Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil to your diet daily. Start with small amounts and increase slowly. We want die off, not herx. No need for the 'heroic' school. I get min coconut oil from topicaltraditions.com Sprinkle two drops of essential oil of Tea Tree in your shoes daily. (WalMart, $5.00 for 2 ounces). mjh From: " kdrbrill " kdrbrill@... Guest guest
Hi Dan I know how you feel. 5 years ago, I asked my infectious disease doctor to test me for systemic candida. He told me there was no no way I could have it and refused. The FFC tested me for it last month and I was positive. It is very frustrating when your doctor's won't listen. That is why we are driving 2 hours to Cleveland to see the doctor at the FFC and paying for it out of pocket. I don't know if that would be a possibility for you, but if it is, I would check it out. Take care, Dawn M I'm certain I have a candida issue too, but doctors won't consider that.> > Thanks Dirk,> > Dan Join the next generation of Hotmail and you could win the adventure of a lifetime http://www.imagine-msn.com/minisites/sweepstakes/mail/register.aspx
