I tried taking 10 tablespoons of olive oil a day (divided between meals) for one whole week but started to break out in cystic acne and so stopped. Is this much olive oil a good idea? I have been on the diet for almost a year. > +++Hi Josh, Holey moley that's a lot of olive oil! You may have unbalanced your omega 3 to omega 6 ratios big time, which will cause problems. Remember, that " more is not better! " Are you sure you are calculating your ratios correctly, and entering foods, oils, etc. in fitday.com to see if you are getting enough? Remember that you do not translate gram ratios of anything to the amount you intake. Bee

I am getting Bee's recommended 5.5 Tbsp coconut oil/day in this way: 3.5 Tbsp melted in to Bee's egg drink (along w/1 Tbsp butter) and then i have 2 cups of bone broth, each having 1 Tbsp coconut oil. Then I heat up meats in butter or drizzle melted butter on veggies...
Guest guest
Hi Bee, glad I asked, I'll not try that again! Thank you for the information. Could you clarify what you mean by not translating gram ratios of anything to the amount you intake - I've seen you mention that before. I try to hit my ratios using fitday and don't try to do anything clever! I have been trying to hit the upper end of my fat allowance as I would like to gain some weight, hence trying out the olive oil (which I didn't realize was a bad idea). Thanks Josh
