Guest guest
Great questions! I have wondered about this myself. Ann From: mcnj <mcnj@...> Subject: [ ] Radiation Fallout from Nuclear Explosions in Japan " Candida Support Group " < > Date: Tuesday, March 15, 2011, 8:56 AM  Hello Bee, We've heard the news that Canada and U.S. may be affected by the radiation from the Nuclear explosions over in Japan. Some articles have mentioned the idea of taking potassium iodide pills (which I have not researched). I'm under the impression that those of us who have gotten healthier, stronger on the diet will be able to detoxify it easily. Would you have advice for those who just started the diet or those not on the diet? Would the flushing niacin be of any help? Vitamin C? Thank you in advance,
Guest guest
Hi guys, I don't know what Bee will say but I have read information on thyroid disorders and toxicity from fluoride, bromide and cholorine as well as radioactive iodine from fallout. Dr. Brownstein has saved many unhealthy people from their thyroid and unhealthy issues with correcting iodine deficiency which is gross in our world. Groups of people were safe from radioactive fallout during the last nuclear disaster at Cheronobyl. They were found to eat miso soup with seaweed. I am taking my iodine drops, eating miso soup and seaweed. And I will not soak in water with Himalayan seasalt that is high in fluoride which is terrible for your thyroid. That's my 2 cents. Guest guest
, thanks for bringing this up. I was just about to post something similar, but you beat me to it! > > Hello Bee, > > We've heard the news that Canada and U.S. may be affected by the radiation from the Nuclear explosions over in Japan. Guest guest
I thought we were not suppose to eat Miso soup on the Candida diet? " If There Were a Reactor Meltdown or Major Leak at Fukushima, the Radioactive Cloud Would Likely be Blown Out ... Towards the US West Coast " http://blacklistednews.com/%22If-There-Were-a-Reactor-Meltdown-or-Major-Leak-at-\ Fukushima%2C-the-Radioactive-Cloud-Would-Likely-be-Blown-Out-...-Towards-the-US-\ West-Coast%22/13042/0/23/23/Y/M.html This, below, I excerpted from the aforementioned article above. *************************************** Excerpt : However, even if the prevailing winds remain off-shore - towards California and Washington - those American states are still a long way away. As AFP notes: While US nuclear experts acknowledged the seriousness of Japan's reactor crisis, some stressed that taking steps in the United States such as distributing iodine tablets -- which prevent iodine 131 from being absorbed into the body -- would be " vastly premature. " " It's a big ocean. These (radiation) releases are essentially going to be at ground level, " said Ken Bergeron, a physicist who has worked on nuclear reactor accident simulation. " We should not confuse it with health issues in the United States. " *************************************** Therefore, everyone, try not to let the headlines overwhelm or hype you up too much and just keep on empowering your immune system with the nutrients on this program. Would the flushing niacin be of any help? Vitamin C? +++Hi , Ed gave very good advice: 1) " It's a big ocean. These (radiation) releases are essentially going to be at ground level, " said Ken Bergeron, a physicist who has worked on nuclear reactor accident simulation. 2) Try not to let the headlines overwhelm or hype you up too much and just keep on empowering your immune system with the nutrients on this program. Here's some other information that should put anyone's fears aside: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-0316-california-radiation-20110316,0,640\ 1831.story?track=rss " What we're being told is that there is no threat to California at this time, " said Mike Sicilia, a spokesman for the California Department of Public Health. " It's a matter of distance. Dangerous radioactivity could not cross the 5,000 miles of the Pacific without petering out. " " Potassium iodide pills — used to prevent the body from absorbing radioactive iodine — have sold out at numerous stores despite warnings from health officials that the pills were unnecessary and could even have harmful side effects. " http://www.thestar.com/news/world/article/954487--radiation-worries-likely-overb\ lown-says-canadian-expert " But McMaster University radiation expert Luxat says iodine and cesium, another element, have an affinity for water. And most of those dangerous radiation particles would be absorbed by the water that the reactor sits in at the bottom of the containment structure, says Luxat, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council chair in nuclear safety analysis. Even in the worst-case scenario, the most dangerous radiation would be deposited in the immediate area of the plant, says Luxat, who agrees that a major breach of the plant's concrete containment structures is unlikely. Luxat says radiation already detected outside the plant is likely of the gaseous varieties that dissipate easily and pose few long-term health threats. says fears that any significant radiation could cross the Pacific and affect people on Canada's west coast are almost ludicrous. 'It's unfortunate that (people in Vancouver) are being caused to be afraid because it's really not realistic, it's not viable that the amount of radiation that could ever come across the Pacific . . . would be significant in terms of health,' he says. says no one outside a 20-kilomere evacuation zone that been imposed around the plant is likely to face serious health consequences. " Knowing what potassium iodide cannot do is also important. It cannot prevent radioactive iodine from entering the body. It can protect only the thyroid from radioactive iodine, not other parts of the body. It cannot reverse the health effects caused by radioactive iodine once damage to the thyroid has occurred. Also it cannot protect the body from radioactive elements other than radioactive iodine. Potassium Iodide is potassium combined with iodine, so no matter what their benefits to the human body, they are going to cause side effects. Taking a cure for a condition that isn't there is unhealthy. Iodine is only needed in trace amounts by the body, and there's plenty of iodine on this program. However, iodine, like all minerals, can only be absorbed and utilized by the correct combination of mineral activators that Dr. Weston A. Price writes about in Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, which are the combination of fats on this program, i.e. omega 3, vitamins A, D and E, saturated fats, etc., along with other minerals, vitamins, protein, etc. Therefore taking potassium iodide may not be absorbed and utilized by people not getting those mineral activators. However, people on a standard diet are already getting way too much potassium iodide since it is in regular salt, which is in all processed foods. Taking more isn't going to help them. If they happen to be absorbing it, their thyroid is already over-saturated with iodine, which causes thyroid problems just like having too little iodine does. Over-saturating the thyroid with iodine protects it from radioactive iodine. Niacin (vitamin B3) helps the body get rid of radiation, however taking it does not protect a person from radioactive fallout. Of course people who have been taking it on this program will have less radiation in their bodies, so they would be able to handle radiation exposure better. It is obvious my body doesn't have, or get, much radiation, since I rarely flush from niacin. It happens more often in the Summer when I'm outside, so that indicates how quickly niacin is able to flush out radiation. For people not on this program niacin plus B complex may not help, since their bodies must be able to detoxify themselves, which is one of the reasons people are unhealthy today. I don't think it is a good idea to advise people who aren't on this program, since it can give them false hopes, and they will come back to you claiming your advice didn't help them! I hope that helps. Bee

Guest guest
A contact of mine who lives in Oregon has been monitoring for radiation increases since before the earthquake (he routinely monitors radiation levels). As of today, he has not noted any increase at all in the normal background radiation at his location. I'll keep you all informed if anything changes.
