Guest guest
Good point Esther, I'm sure with animals full of hormones and antibiotics which you in turn eat yourself that the disease possibilities are endless for the end user, us. Breast cancer and Prostate cancer are hormonally modulated and dependent diseases. Although no one can say with certainty that ingesting large quantities of hormones and antibiotics actually causes these types of cancer, I find it awfully suspicious and would not believe any one of those phony healers with the white lab coat and stethoscope hanging around his neck telling me with smug self assurance otherwise. It was these same people in the same costumes who sat in front of congressional committees back in the 1960's and swore up and down on the bible no less that there was no connection between cigarette smoking and lung cancer or any respiratory disease. They sure fooled me and millions of others. Which only proves that you can essentially pay anyone to say anything if the price is right. Guest guest
Why pick on Dairy foods, as a cause of cancer. There wouldn't be a generation after myself if it were so. In the dirty thirties when I grew up everyone drank milk and ate ice cream. We would eat just about everything we could find in those depression years. The Thais, no doubt, had to be doing a lot of other things conducive to good health. Guest guest
Why pick on Dairy foods, as a cause of cancer. Well we could pick on others also, my favorite one is how we live and what we do with our consciousness. But dairy (and I eat an obscene amount of it) just is what it is....doing research and listening to what some people say about it is astounding to say the least. Guest guest
BOB WROTE THE FOLLOWING: The vast majority of beef cows, chickens and pigs in the U.S. are fed a steady diet of antibiotics and hormones (which you eat when you eat the animal) and for this reason most European countries won't accept it. On the flip side, up until quite recently, many European countries fed virtually anything they wanted to their cows to fatten them up (but no hormones) , including the ground up corpses of other cows and sheep. They essentially fed a vegatarian animal the diet of a carnivore. Now how is that for turning nature on it's head? > > BOB I'm surprised that you seem to imply that: " the fact, that many European countries fed virtually anything they wanted to their cows, including GROUND UP CORPSES OF OTHER COWS AND SHEEP -- WAS BETTER THAN THE " hormones " that are being fed to some of the cattle here, in our USA. But, we all know that these European countries now have MAD COW DESEASE, because of feeding livestock to cattle, instead of grass and grains. Confidentially, if I'd have to choose between " hormones " and " mad cow disease, " I would choose " hormones " any day! Truth is, though, I don't have to eat meat from cows that have been fed hormones. I still have a choice in our good old USA. And I don't buy that either, that this option is very rarely available. I fully believe, " if there's a will to find meat without hormones in our good old USA, there's also a way. " Esther

Guest guest
Sheri, I've been told over the years that anything that produces lots of phlegm \mucus (especially milk) will cause problems. I've also noticed that any processed foods cooked in cottonseed oil produces lots of mucus and I can actually feel it backup into my ears, the right one especially. Yogurt has the same affect. An allergist once told me to avoid cottonseed oil, beef, cod, and lemons (and to cut back on the dairy). Quite odd it may seem...but if I am diligent at avoiding these things, along with most dairy products, it seems to have positive affect on my sinus' and ears. I've been toying with the idea of opening a lawsuit for\against companies that use cottonseed oil - take a closer look at the ingredients when you shop, you'll find it everywhere. One good idea that came from that particular allergist was to try different diets to see if that had any affect. I am about 80 pounds overweight, so picking the right foods to eat could have a multitude of benefits. Luck to your 10 year old. Ear pain has to be the worse...right up there with child bearing (for woman) and getting one's privates caught in a zipper (for men). I have a 10:30 surgery appointment tomorrow for an ossicular chain reconstruction, tympanoplasty, and mastoidectomy. Once the right ear stablizes, I get to have the same fun to my left. Wish me luck. awbsjb <keithsheri@...> wrote: ,Thanks for your reply. Please tell me more about the dairy connection to CToma (or allergies). Guest guest
Sheri, is your son allergic to milk? My son had a CWD and we have had no problems with any kind of food....But he isn't allergic to anything, so we don't have the mucus problem. >From: Culp <jfculp@...> >Reply-cholesteatoma >cholesteatoma >Subject: Re: dairy products >Date: Tue, 16 May 2006 14:46:30 -0700 (PDT) > >Sheri, > > I've been told over the years that anything that produces lots of phlegm > \mucus (especially milk) will cause problems. Guest guest
His only known allergy is to mosquitoes, but I'm anxious to see what his otologist will have him tested for. He shows no classic allergy signs, but maybe they reveal through the ears as opposed to runny nose, watery eyes, etc. Would love for a simple diet change (and this one more surgery) to put an end to this. I believe we chatted earlier and you're in the Southeast also. Our southern pollens, etc. could be a problem.
Guest guest
You're right, I am in the Southeast and the pollen makes you crazy this time of year. I'm just surprised to hear that a diet change would make a difference. It's interesting, I never considered it.I can see how it would keep the ears moist and plugged up.... >From: " awbsjb " <keithsheri@...> >Reply-cholesteatoma >cholesteatoma >Subject: Re: dairy products >Date: Wed, 17 May 2006 03:00:08 -0000 > >His only known allergy is to mosquitoes, but I'm anxious to see what >his otologist will have him tested for. Guest guest
Sheri, Milk and dairy products promote mucus in the body. I learned this when my Mother was diagnosed with COPD. Anyone with allergies wants to avoid anything that would promote more mucus in their body. My son drinks SILK (soy milk) instead of regular milk. He doesn't like the taste by itself but after he drowns it in chocolate syrup he doesn't taste anything but chocolate . > > , > > Thanks for your reply. (A little off topic, but...) If your son doesn't like soy milk, you might try Rice Dream / rice milk. I don't care for soy either, but I do like the taste of rice milk. It tastes more like regular cow's milk. (I'm the one person in my family blessed to not have allergies. I was just trying it out the other day to reduce cholesterol in my diet.) Guest guest
Hello Bee, I have same questions about dairy products. I know candida sufferers cannot tolerate dairy products (except butter). Milk, yogurt and some cheese contain too much natural sugar(lactose), but why we cannot tolerate cured cheese? Is because we can not diggest their protein (casein), or because they are fermented? In the article: " Foods that Damage, Foods that Heal " , in the healthy diet foods list we can find dairy products (full fat). Are dairy products banned only for candida sufferers or for any illness ( depression, autism, diabetes...)? When we are healthy, can we eat dairy products everyday? or have we got any restriction about them? Thank you very much
