Guest guest
Patty, I had the same problem with my son until he was 1.5 years old. A dietician accused me of not feeding him enough. When he was 18 months old we discovered he had obstructive sleep apnea. We started him on oxygen at night, and within one month his appetite tripled. I fed him three meals a day, and each meal was as much as he would eat in one day before using oxygen. Within a year he went from 50% on the achon growth chart to almost 75%. Now he is five years, and the last year he had not grown at all. We did another sleep study, and determined the Oxygen was not enough. Now he is using a bipap; again his appetite had a huge increase, and he has outgrown a pair of shoes since July. I would definitely request a sleep study to make sure your daughter does not have apnea. Good luck Marie At 08:18 AM 10/19/99 -0700, you wrote: >From: Patty Hauck <pjhauck311@...> > >Hi! Guest guest
I personally dont think there is such a thing as an " ideal weight " . I think it is what you are confortable handling as far as mobility and flexibility. Iam 3'6 " ish and I use to weigh about 90 lbs. After I got married I went up to 112lbs and I felt aweful. I had a hard time getting around and I was always stiff. Over the last 5 months I have shed most of the access weight and I feel SO much better. I dont get nearly as tired when I walk and it doesnt hurt as much either. So for me Ive found around 90lbs give or take 5lbs is good for ME. lee Keeblertam@... wrote: > From: Keeblertam@... > > I would like to know if anyone knows the ideal weight for a dwarf that is > 3'9 " ? Guest guest
A few factors really enter into the weight thing. What's your bone structure? Is it small, medium, or large. How muscular are you? If you're lifting weights and building muscle then that's weight (Preferred weight too). I am 4'4 1/4 " and am weighing in at about 92lbs. When I'm stressed I drop to about 85lbs. At my heaviest I was weighing in at 115lbs. I think the body charts say 88-95 for that height. But I could be wrong...somewhere there is a chart in metric...Fred? Was that you that submitted the chart a year or so ago? Karin :-) weight hello, everyone I have a easy question, does anyone know how much a woman achon ..should weigh ,I stand 4 ft 3..this past winter I lost 15 pounds..Im working out and eating right...and just wondering the proper weight for a 29 year old achon lady...kristie _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

But I also did crave more carbs while on Paxil. How frustrating for you ! I gained 40 but did not really exercise much at the time. I found that it was relatatively " easy " to lose the weight after I stopped taking Paxil. Took a year though and I was very strict with myself. Guest guest
SSRI's seem to cause carb cravings in some people. Paxil did for me. Don't hve that problem on Lex. Ive noticed im craving sweets everyday. I use to never want them. I cant seem to lose a pound at all.

Guest guest
Sorry you had to go through that, there's no happy medium, is there. I realized that I no longer think of if I hurt or not, it's only how much. Like when people ask " how is your neck feeling? " , I say not bad even when it hurts so much, but because at that time I'm able to be up talking to a friend - it means it's tolerable. Can't remember what it was like before. Wish you wouldn't have to deal with knees and back, too. One or the other would be quite enough! Dee --------------------------------- We won't tell. Guest guest
> Hi Dee Right now I had to struggle off my sofa where I was covered witha a nice, warm , blanket. I was just getting so stiff from not moving, but now I'm freezing. I swear this has to be the coldest weather Vegas has had in years. I know being underweight doesn't help, but I had weight loss surgery for my health also. I've also read studies where people who have weight loss surgery are more prone to arthritis, we lose a lot of nutrients because everything leaves the body so quickly. I make sure I always take Calcium citrate, Vitamin D, and magnesium. That glucosomine/chondroitin stuff doesn't work for me, though my aunt says it makes a difference for her. I also got osteoporosis, probably as a partial result of the RNY. So, it' shad it's good and bad points. Emotionally, it did wonders for me. Being disabled has really changed my life, I used to do all my errands in one day, so my next day off I could relax, or we could go out, now I have to spread my housework and shopping all through the week. I have the time-since I can't work I have plenty of time, but there are just some days that are so full of pain you don't want to get out of the chair. Or I'll wear myself out and keep dozing off, which then affects my nite sleep. It's a no win situation, except I know there are others in the group much worse off than I. My skin is so dry from the lack of humidity here, I leave welts in my skin because I keep scratching so much- does any one have ideas? I use all sorts of shower lotions, after shower lotions and moisurisers, I'm going crazy! I go to my main surgeon tomorrow for more xrays, the last batch didn't really show anything, even thoogh I have mid-back pain. i can keep it under control with my meds, so maybe I'll just tell them to let it alone until it's intolerable. Well, enough of this email, it's becoming book length. I guess it's like my therapy, getting all this stuff out of my head so I don't stress more and my pain can relax. take care everyone, and thanks for letting me babble. Guest guest
-Hi Dee I think if most people had a clue how much pain we live in they would not believe we even function thru a day. One a good day I can do things on a bad one just being up is a chore. And then people don't understand when I won't go to a dinner theater and sit for over 4 hrs and have no idea why it would be torture for me to go thr and not something I will put myself thru for anyone. I still get people asking me " aren't I better now I had my surgery surely I am not in so much pain now " I give up trying to explain to anyone anymore cause they just don't GET IT!!!!!!!! Walking is the best exercise for me even if its just around my yard several times with my dog it has helped me alot. best wishes Sharon Group Owner -- In neck pain , Green Darner <swampgirl55@...> wrote: > > Sorry you had to go through that, there's no happy medium, is there. > I realized that I no longer think of if I hurt or not, it's only how much. Guest guest
Hi Jeannie have you ever tried celebrex? I have taken it for a long time and it really helps my joints feel better. I also take MSN & gluscosimin. It does take awhile for it to work so don't expect it too in just a week or so. I've had my show horse on it for years or his joints used to pop something awful ugg and I have two of my geldings at home on it cause they both have had leg injuries. With it they all sure do better. But I know it helps me is why I take it I can tell when I skip taking that or my celebrex cause I feel so stiff in my joints. As for your skin have you tried a humidifier???? Seems like different kinds of lotions work better for different people but the main trick is to keep slathering it on. Especially right after you are wet cause your pores are open and soak it up more. And be sure and use a moisterizing soap or waah as soap dries out your skin. And as for keeping warm up north next winter or maybe just now not sure how cold it has been there, I'd order a set of silk longjohns You'll LOVE THEm I promise and they will keep you super duper warm when its cold. Hope some of this helps. Guest guest
Sorry for butting into the conversation here, but I wanted to let you know what I found out about the dry skin issue. I have seen a dermatologist several times over the years for my skin issues. The very first advice he gave me was to get rid of your fabric softener, and to use Tone soap. I followed this advice and my skin was considerably better for years. Now for the last year I have been having problems again, but when a biopsy was done, it showed that I had extremely dry and sensitive skin. The dermy told me to rub oil into my body,,,,baby oil is what I use, altho he said even olive oil or cooking oil would work if need be. Apply it to your skin before you dry off after your showers,,,,,before you dry off,,,,,,,,then just pat yourself dry. You have to watch the lotions because it's the perfume in them that dry out your skin. As with your shower soaps, etc.,,,,,,,,watch the perfume content,,,,,,Tone is very good! A humidifier would be a really good idea also! Hope this helps. Good luck, Barb -- Re: weight Hi Jeannie have you ever tried celebrex? Guest guest
Hello there, I had to stop taking lexapro because of weight gain. I gained almost 10lbs in 2 months. My grandmother was put on it too and she put on a lot of weight. Everyone is different though. I am taking cymbalta now, and have not gained a pound. Lexapro is a good drug though, it did help me out a lot with my anxiety, but there a chance of putting on weight with it, like a lot of anti-depressants. Wellbutrin and cymbalta seem to be the only ones that I have read about, and talked to people about, that doesnt seem to put weight on people. You could always try the lexapro out and see what kind of effect it will have on you. I noticed a weight gain within the first week and a half and switched to cymbalta immediatly........I just cant afford weight gain either!! Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi, I also had to stop taking lexapro because of weight gain. I gained over 20lbs in six months. Lexapro helped my anxiety but after a few months I started feeling like a zombie. I was tired all the time and didn't feel like doing anything. I have been off for two months and started exercising. I have lost 6 lbs. I am hesitant to try anything else right now. Vicki kim hart <kimahart26@...> wrote: Hello there, I had to stop taking lexapro because of weight gain.
