Guest guest
Hi Bee. My gum area way in the back where my wisdom tooth should be (but was impacted and removed years ago) is suddenly, inexplicably sore and inflamed. I've been swabbing the area with hydrogen peroxide periodically for a couple days now but it hasn't helped yet. Is there something else I should be doing? Should I try coconut oil pulling? I brush once a day with tooth soap, if that's pertinent at all. I don't think it's retracing the surgical removal of the wisdom tooth, since I'm not even 100% on the diet yet. It seems like a piece of hard food scraped it or something. Thank you for your time and all the hard work you do! Dana

You can do some direct treatments but the inflammation will only stop when your body decides it has finished healing in the area. You could do oil pulling with coconut oil. Instead of swabbing the area with hydrogen peroxide (H202) which is very strong, use a 50/50 mixture of H202 and non-chlorinated water. Put it in your mouth, holding it for up to 2 minutes, swishing it around a lot (don't swallow it). That's good you are using a good tooth cleaner, and once a day is okay. Don't brush the inflamed area, and instead let the H202 and oil pulling help it. I hope that helps. Bee
