Guest guest
> > Hello Bee. I am in the program for 2 weeks. The last 5 days I have eaten no carbohydrates, only 1 lemon per day in electrolite drink. I have read that Dr. Jan. Kwasniewski says: " a minimum daily intake of carbohydrate (50 g) is recommended in humans to prevent ketosis and loss of muscle protein " . Do you agree with this? Do you think I should eat a little amount of vegetables (20-50 gr) per day? +++Hi there. Welcome to our group. What is your name please? Wow, you changed over very quickly, which may cause you problems. You should gradually lower your carbs and increase your fats since good fats cause many healing and detoxifying symptoms, and lowering carbs too fast may cause constipation until your fats are up high enough - follow the instructions in Curing Candida, How to Get Started: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro1.php The electrolyte drink is optional since some people starting on this program aren't able to tolerate lemons. You should calculate your protein, fat and carb ratios which are the same ratios Dr. Jan K recommends, so you are getting the amounts suitable for your body size - there's a Simple Calculator on this page: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods8.php After writing down your ratios follow the instructions in this article for entering your foods so you can see where you need to increase or decrease the amount you eat: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods9.php I don't know if Dr. Jan K. actually wrote that statement about ketosis, and it doesn't make sense that everyone should have at least 50g of carbs per day due to different body sizes. Also many people are on all meat and fat programs and they don't lose any muscles. The only reason a person loses muscle is IF their body doesn't get enough protein so they body has to rob it from their muscles. That's why the Eskimos and Masai warriors in Africa that Dr. Weston Price studied were the healthiest of the primitive groups he researched, yet they only consumed meat and fat, and no carbs - his book is Nutrition and Physical Degeneration - here's more information from his book: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/price1.php Dr. Jan K. writes about consuming enough carbs so your body doesn't " have to " convert meats and fats to fulfill its glucose requirements, since carbs are cheaper than meats and fats. All the best, Bee
