I went to this site and notice that their soap fragrances and colorants are

water-based. Will water-based work well in CP soap? Anyone use their soap

products?

I am clueless. Thanks for any info.

Foe some reason it doesn't work right if you just click on it. If you copy

and paste just the address in you browser I bet it will work. I had to do

the same to get it to work myself.

I went into google and put in craftexpress.com, and it

came right up. You may want to try that.

Really sorry for all the problems with this post. I visit their

message board alot and the ad for the cocoa butter flashes across the

top of the board. The link has worked in every email message that has

been sent on the toiletries posts. Anyway I noticed that the cocoa

butter doesn't show up in the supplies anywhere. Go to the area on

the front page where it says printable price list and cocoa butter is

listed there.

If you are interested in ordering there is an 800 # to call.

You should also be able to find it at a Walgreens or other drug store. It

could come in a small jar or cylinder stick.

Hi Ayala,

Can't say for sure, but I would doubt it since cocoa butter is used

mainly for skincare/food etc. There are even " deodorized version of

it. I would think that you could tincture it though. It may be

messy, and you might have to repeat it several times to get a strong

scent, but it's possible. I always melt waxes down to a warm liquid

consistency before tincturing, seems let up more scent. Ylva would be

the one to ask for more wax tincturing ideas....

It's interesting that you bring this up. People were asking Butch

about the availability of chocolate wax (as a byproduct of the

absolute) on another list. So far, there isn't any to be had, but

wouldn't that be YUMMY?

Good luck,

JenB

Hi Chris:

I'm just about to order. Unfortunately this place puts out one flavor.

Undeodorized. The price is right at $2/lb, but I like deodorized myself.

Let me know if you're interested.

Where did you guys get that message? About me buying the rock-hard, or at least

candle-hard cocoa butter? I wrote that a year ago. Was it dug up from the

archives? I didn't recognize it at first, well it sounded familiar, I was

actually thinking it was written by another in the group who had a problem

that sounded familiar-then it dawned on me! LOL! Not the brightest crayon in

the box, am I?

I actually figured out if I leave the cocoa butter on my radiator cover before

my shower that a sufficient amount will have melted by the time I'm done and I

put it on after the shower. I tried whipping it, because that's what someone

reccomended I do, but I think I over whipped it and it got hard and crumbly. I

think I may have even put it in the microwave to melt it before I discovered the

radiator method. When there was a little left in the container I decided to

experiment and add some oils. I added vanilla, lavender, frankincense, jasmine

o., and cedar. Very nice. I might get some more, because chocolate is so much

more autumn/winter to me. I've been using unrefined coconut oil. I love the

scent of that as well, and I love it on my skin and I use it on my hair. I

don't bother with hair conditioner anymore. But somehow the scent of coconut

just doesn't fit the season like chocolate does. Coconut makes me think of

turquiose waters, palm fronds rustling on

warm breezes, hot sun, and brightly-colored fruity drinks with umbrellas in

them-definately a summer scent.

Subject: Cocoa butter

Hello

Could someone please tell me how soon after surgery you started to use the cocoa

butter? Being a vain creature, it would be great if I could get this scar a bit

fainter :)

I had a THR on 5th Feb this year - most of it has healed up well but at the top

it is skin over skin rather than aligned and the nurse is concerned it may split

so I am steri-stripped together at the top. Maybe I could start with cocoa

butter on the bottom part?

Thanks in advance for input,

Layna

I wouldn't put anything on any part of the scar that is still open. It was made

clear to me by several people on my team of PT and OS that as long as the scar

is open at all, it could get an infection. So I waited until it was completely

closed.

I did take plenty of Iron pills and Vitamins and D.

I was told to wait until the stitches were out and the scar was closed up in

order to avoid getting an infection.
